Need help with a quickfine tune on my sub
At home with a broken hand not working so i can't afford a custom box right now to squeeze as much bass out of my 12" elite. so i'm a bit hesitant to mess with the stereo. the sub is powered by an rx 1100 and my deck is a kenwood excelon kdc x599 my question is what is the safest i could tune m...

When did Z series amps become available in the U.S.
this might sound like a dumb question but when? I helped out at my local shop setting up (and scored an RMD & SX 65 Coaxials for free :D ) and he got in a full run of the Z series amplifiers, pics are on my phone but my phone doesn't get good wifi at all down here in mexico but if i find good si...

Re: making a custom box for the elite 12
I would hazard to say 90% of the boxes I built as an installer were with out it. A properly built box with a good woofer and power should not "need" filling and the only time I really remember using it was on boxes that were built to maximize the space available but did not meet the minim...

Re: making a custom box for the elite 12
I make up a "milkshake" concoction with fiberglass resin and bondo and then pour it in on each flat surface. It spreads itself out and fills in all gaps. It's a trick I use on my fiberglass boxes but it works great on wooden boxes too. It'll give you some density to the walls, and then ma...

Re: making a custom box for the elite 12
glue or some adhesive is normally used on the joints and then inside of that often a silicon adhesive/glue/sealer inside to ensure all the seams are sealed. Cool i figured that would end up being it, And this is my first box ever so my edges don't line up right, I could use a hand planer and a sand...

Re: making a custom box for the elite 12
Go with the normal specs. Ive built a few enclosures now for the Elites and imo they like the 2.25 the best. But ill say this. Lots of bracing is a must. Even dual layer the box if you can. The elite subs will flex 3/4 mdf easily. My box weighs in at just under 200lbs and it will slid across the fl...

making a custom box for the elite 12
I'm about to make a custom box and i want to make an spl box to compensate for the power im giving it, but the manual says the spl box is 1.75 cu ft while the normal box is 2.25 cu ft. I thought itd be the other way around since a bigger box would mean more air for the sub to push. any recommendedat...

Re: Is this elite subwoofer trash?
Gear looks beat up to me. But that sub is a beast and that amp is a strong performer at its price point. Retail for that amp $400. Authorized dealer cost on that amp is way more than $128 cnd unless the exchange rates have recently risen greatly, I cant see it being sold for that. Yeah my dealer to...

Re: What is the best Way to rip CDs on pc
when you put the disc in the drive itunes will usually popup and ask if you want to import the cd and at the top of the window there will be a dropdown that defaults to mp3 format. you can pull down that menu and it will give options. I think it says "ALAC (Lossless Format)", or something...

Re: What is the best Way to rip CDs on pc
First. When you burn the CD in itunes, select the Apple Lossless format. Makes a bigger file on your computer, but the quality is much better and well worth it. Second.....Get a new head unit, one that has a USB input and can play an ipod directly through the USB. What you are hearing is poor quali...

Re: TI265PS MSRP?
My local PG dealer would have made me a "special deal" on them for $199....bastards. That is why I do not shop there. These came BNIB from a pawn shop ebay store. 1st set I have seen for sale there. Good timing because my single Exile XT65 bit the dust days ago. Now I am enjoying music in...

I finally got around to throwing these in and wow....they are good! I did not change any settings and they blend better with the subs for one. The highs are good....maybe a bit too hard but they may just need to loosen up and break in a bit. Oh and this is on just the front channels of the sd1100.5...

Re: Is this elite subwoofer trash?
My suggestion is to buy from an authorized dealer. You are trying to save a buck now but you will spend more in the long run this way. There is at least one authorized dealer on here that I'm sure can cut you a deal. Yeah my dealer in my town is selling me an rx400.4 for 250 and either two sets of ...

I have a hard time seeing why pg would replace the sub. they don't cover stupid. it has been Cleary dropped. a 4 gauge wiring kit can be found all day for 50.00 I just hope since it been cut that it is not to short for you. I would never buy it as it has been treated like shit. I don't care what a ...

Re: Is this elite subwoofer trash?
It seems like you are really trying to find a way to buy this guys stuff. If you get a new sub out of it then it's a step in he right direction, but you still have a beat up amp (cosmetic for sure, who knows about the rest) and the amp itself is under powering the sub (your words, I am not familiar...
