Re: Pioneer DEH-80PRS question.

From what I've been reading, you cant add a changer to the unit unless its one of those FM type changers. Looks like I may have to buy a ipod. Wished I'd done a bit more research before picking up the unit. Would have bought a older model Alpine deck. ;)

Pioneer DEH-80PRS question.

I purchased a Pioneer DEH-80PRS head unit for my 65 Ford Galaxie. I would like to add a CD changer if I can. (I'm a bit old fashion like the car... ;) ) I found information on adding a ipod, but none on adding a CD changer. Anybody familiar with the HU know if a changer can be added? If so, what mod...

Re: General questions during the purchasing of audio equiptm

Picked up a Alpine deck (used) for my 65 Ford Galaxie. Noticed that the deck only has sub pre outs. By using the high/low converters, do you lose SQ? If not, what brand converter do you guys recommend? If SQ will suffer, I will just pick up a new deck.
Thanks....

Re: Bass Expanders & Processors.......

I get what the manual is trying to do. It wants to adjust the bass going to more than just the subwoofer. This might make more sense for you as you want to boost your Midbass rather than sub bass. Not sure how you would do it with your current setup. Ideally you would run the front to the bass cube...

Re: General questions during the purchasing of audio equiptm

better invest in a good deep cycle battery such a stinger/odyssey........ put in a big as you can.... you can for sure leave the red top in the front and buy a new one for in the trunk...... If I go with 2 different batteries (Optima up front and Stinger in back.) that would mean getting into batte...

Re: Bass Expanders & Processors.......

All the ones I mentioned above run in the $45-$80 range (only a couple were in the $80.00 range.) while AudioControl runs about $125.00+. Do you think the AudioControl is worth the extra $$$? May go with the Precision Power BP.8. Like the remote adjustability of the bass level and PSM filter. Best p...

Re: General questions during the purchasing of audio equiptm

looking around for 8 gauge speaker wire, your choices are far less. What do you guys think about running 10 gauge? 8 gauge was at 1100 watts, 5ft distance run, 1 ohm load (max for amp.) Don't think I'll be using the full 1100 watts.

General questions during the purchasing of audio equiptment.

Rather than putting up a request for different subjects during my equipment and equipment support purchasing, I thought I would ask the questions in this one thread if you guys don't mind. I will do searches on line but will come back to this thread to get your opinion to base my final decision on s...

Re: Bass Expanders & Processors.......

Looking and the manual for most the these bass expanders, it shows them being hooked up after the head unit. Now if you have Front, Rear and Sub out. Do you hook it up to the sub out or one of the Front/Rear output? The unit only has 1 input and 1 output, what happens to the other output from the r...

Bass Expanders & Processors.......

Did a search and found a thread that was a bit old that discussed the PG Bass Cube and the Audio Control Epicenter. The type of music I listen to really benefits by using the device. Since the PG Bass Cube is discontinued, any suggestions on what other brands to check into besides the Epicenter? Tha...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

Thanks for the reply. VERY informative info you have provided. Is there that much difference in SQ between the Ti2's and the Elite amps that one can tell the difference?

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

Since we are on the subject of amps, this thread went way off course... :) I was looking at the Ti2 series amps. Since the Ti2 amplifiers are 60% smaller in size, how are the amps at dissipating heat? Seems to me they would get hot fast. Also with the transparent cover, to me that is less aluminum a...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

I may have 2 BNIB Ti800.4's for sale.... Any suggestions on what amp I should check into to push the subs mentioned above?? One that wont empty my wallet. Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

I bought the subs only after asking the shop if the Ti800.4 amp would be enough to push them. (Apparently not.) To return the subs there is a restocking fee and at the moment I don't want to lose money on subs that are only 3 days old and still in the box. I think I need to step back and rethink thi...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

Running the stock alternator at the moment. (105 amp, I think.) Planning on upgrading to a 140/160 amp alternator. I'm not sure If I'll have the room to run 3 of older Ti series amps. I will talk to the shop to see about exchanging the amps for the Ti2 series amps. Anybody know what the going rate i...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

you might want to look for different subs if your just using a bridged t1 2011 800.4 It will work but I think the sub like to have a little more power on tap but its also how and what you listen to if you like it loud than I would change subs to something different again imo After looking at the sp...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

ttocs,
Thanks for the reply. That does make me feel a bit better about my purchase. I've searched the net and not much at all when it comes to the review of the small PG speakers. When it comes to subs and amps there are plenty out there and most are positive reviews.
