Re: Need opinions on gear for new install
I agree with Knightrider use the deck power for rears. If you are going for a SQ setup you will probably find that your rear fill is not needed. I spent a lot of time and money putting together nice rear fill in my truck. I don't use them at all, the sound just irritates me now. I only keep them in ...

Re: Message out to all PG employees...
It was about 2 months ago that she asked me to remove it from the registry for now. That was when I asked for them to look it over and let me know if there's anything that was an issue with PG or AAMP. The two corrections were: remove the zen9 for now and they wanted their official logo used at the...

Re: Old school car audio - RIP
OK well I have had about enough of this thread! Old school is not dead! I am proof of it! I am on the IASCA circuit competing SQ running a MQ430 on non Morel Elites and my subs on a MPS2500! I am scoring in the 200 point range, and 2 first place wins. (Smaller shows) But I am keeping up with the new...

Re: Landmark personal memories in car audio
Easy one for me! Getting my first win at a SQ show in Chicago! All PG build. It was a great day to take a first place. It makes you appreciate more all the work and thought in your install. And of course a lot of damn money back then.

I ran one on 2 comp sets and did great. They put out a lot more power than you think. In fact I am using a 430 in my new truck.RayBuck wrote:The mq430 is a sweet amp but it isn't that much power

Re: 2015 F-150 Install
You got lucky to find a place to pass through. My 16 F-250 Diesel has no place. Also for anyone with one of these trucks DO NOT unplug or bump to hard the module in the middle on the floor, it can cause codes. To clear them you will be paying the dealer. I can only imagine what the 250 diesel looks...

I also got some help installing from Spiderman! What kid doesn't want to install audio on spring break? :D As a side note, new vehicles SUCK to run wire through the firewall or doors. I FINALLY found a spot to run the 1/0 power wire through the firewall, but I had to drill a hole and install a grom...

Depends on condition, cap changes, ext. I would say between $600-$1100.

Re: Re capping.. And sil pads..
For what little they cost I just change them. Digikey has tons of different sizes, in fact I just ordered more sil-pads and caps last night. As for the paste I use MG Chemicals Silicone Heat Transfer Compound. A little dab goes a long way.

Re: Can we vent in here? I need a brick wall.
I am guessing E-Bay or CL. Some of these clowns have no idea how rare and hard to find some of this gear really is. About a year or so ago I bought a MPS2500 MINT! The assbag put it in a box that just barely fit and what do you think happened? After several months and friends overseas I finally got ...

Try GTMAT.com! I used this in my truck for the system but also used it for sound control on my 66 Fastback. Its like 1/2 the price of Dynomat, and once in place this shit sticks like mad. I am ordering some more for my new truck next week.
Re: MS vs MPS
Ok. I knew all those points. Looking for more... Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk Real simple! The MPS were put out as straight up "Cheater Amps"! In comp it was based on what the wattage rating was, not the actual output. Many moons ago I ran a MPS2500 and 2240 which kept me in the ...

Re: RCA Cables - make or buy?
I totally agree to avoid the locking ones. If you get those and are not careful, you can damage the RCA jacks on a lot of amps (rip the outer ring off). I have found it difficult to find RCAs that fit "just right". I was taught a little secret years ago. A very thin layer of the MSD Spark...

And so on.
Sweet to see that serial #10. I think I know where you got that amp from.
