OK - got more pics... I don't think you can see from the top - but a pic of the top side of the new caps is below as well. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z166/denislphoto/DSC01115.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z166/denislphoto/DSC01114.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z166/denislp...

Replacing caps and resistors... I screwed up
Hi... It's been a while since I was asking advise how to fix my M44 and M50, well I finally got around to it and am now worried. I replaced all the power caps and big DC caps as well as those resistors which looked like they got pretty hot. Of the 30 or so solder connections I made on the back of th...

M44 Speaker ohm question
Are there any issues if I run 4 ohm components on my front channels and 2 ohm coax on the rear channels? Would I just lower the rear gain to compensate for the additional power?
Or could I run the front components in parallel to drop them down to 2 ohms on one channel?
Thanks.

Cecil.... Wow, thank you for the tour of Silicon Valley. I had a great time. It's amazing to experience the valley from the perspective of someone who's lived the rise and fall cycles of the valley and to share all that history with me. That was really awesome. I think we blew through a tank of gas!...

C - I did. I just went through every distributer on findchips.com and none of the results matched. I then went to each of the sites and searched for a 5W 91ohm metal film resistor and nothing. If you found it can you shoot me the link? Also - for my edification... A 9.10K resistor is 9100 ohms right...

I will definately use RTV. My recap job will be performed exactly as you (and Doc) meticuliously outlined. Your experience and willingness to share it is very generous and I'm extremely grateful. I only wish I was able to find the 6800uf caps at a reputable seller... If you find a part number anytim...

C - I just checked both amps and the caps are 10uf on both so I should be good. Just curious.... what is the function of the large caps I'm replacing? Do they have anything to do with the sound quality? Does this do what an external 1farad cap would do (but obviously not on the same scale) ? If so t...

C - I have everything on your list except wick which I'll get. One more quick question... This is your quote from another thread: You will find these near the big resistors located in the power supply section, They are the 100 ufd caps rated at 25 volts. If you check these while the amp is running y...
