The sub channels rails in the 1.5 are the ones that usually leak. I have purchased a couple that have burnt sub channels. I think Ricky has one of the boards still.

You asked what the GW6.10 meant well this is a guess but GW stand for Gigawatts in physics so 6.10 gw of power maybe? I think the idea kicks ass.

I have not seen any of the others that have redone ends but I have had Dave do 2 plates off a 2240 for me and he has done a plexi for MS1000 for me. They came out near perfect. The only issue I seen was the neon colored ink was not an exact match which there is not even any of that on the MS1000. I ...

Gold Electroplating is not that expensive to have done. I remember doing gold plating at a detail shop I worked at then I was a teen back when gold emblems and stuff was the craze. It was real cheap then and still is.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted say Thank you to Nico for writing it up. It has been a great help.
Not sure if anyone is paying attention or not but after coating the core with the varnish would it not be helpful to also spray a light coat of Dry lubricant on it?

Great guy has went above and beyond recapping, modding and repairing my Nickel MS1000, He has recapped several other amps in the past. They always arrive in great shape and in better shape than I sent them.

So that would be a No. The power supply and the heat dissipation were not designed to handle anything below 1 ohm.Lowest Recommended Load 1 Ohm

The red route 66 cleaned up nicely there is only 1 scratch and it did not look as bad as it first looked.
