This question made me curious enough to dig out my amps. My MPS2220 doesn't have them. One of my MPS2240's has them and the other doesn't. And my MPS2500 has them.

I guess I should have mentioned that it must be sold by best buy. I have a large credit there which is the only reason I was starting to think about purshasing one. I have my eye on the onkyo 807 for now. They seem to cycle the amps that are on sale so I'll just keep watching until they mark it down...

Why on earth didn't you buy the 6290 that was on sale for $799 ? That was the hella steal of this boxing day. The one you picked is still decent solid gear. I went Denon last year from Yam and bought the 899. I didn't even see the 6290. If it was $799 then it would have been a no-brainer Aside from...

The sale price is what drew me to this amp. Although I am still trying to decide between comparable denon and onkyo amps as well. They all seem pretty close which makes the decision even more confusing.

Home theatre amp

Hey guys. I'm looking at picking up an amp to start off my home theatre. The problem is I don't know much about them. This is the one I'm looking at: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10123058&catid=20303&PCName=Coop%5FYamaha# please take a...

I also had an M50 stolen. It was years ago, in Surrey of all places. I have the receipt that I could dig up, it had the serial #M500815. It's not rare enough for some thief to take care of it so it's probably long since been fried. You never know though.

That is a shroud for an MS amp. I've seen a few around on the net, but not in quite awhile. I was actually looking at buying the same piece.

And yes, the 275 and 250 are the same size. I think it is just the MQ430 that is a little longer.

I agree, I bought the album the day it came out and it lived in my deck for quite awhile. I really enjoyed the sound of the new cd, seems much more "put together" than their other stuff. If you're buying the cd, there are 2 versions. The copy with the DVD has 3 extra songs I think. The DVD...

When you first start a torrent download it might only be connected to one or 2 peers. That's why the ETA is so long. Just let it sit and as others connect to you it goes down fast. Last night mine said over a week...it ended up taking about 13 mins.

Just saw this, and it is quite a steal. That Freud router is a beast at 3.5 HP. http://av123forum.com/showthread.php?t=35182 That thing is a beast. But it's a little more than I want to spend. Not to mention shipping would be expensive too. Also, I have no room for a full height table. I need a ben...

Choosing a Router

Hey guys, Sears is having a tool sale this weekend and I want to finally pick up a router so I can build some panels and rings for my stereo. I would love to buy a nice Porter Cable or Dewalt set but to be honest, it wont be used all that much. I don't want to buy a whole set so I was wondering, wha...

No problem. It's not my sub. Just trying to give a little advice but it's a little hard when you know nothing about the driver.

The shape of the basket sort of resembles the Orion. Are there any cheaper companies that use the same parts Orion does?

Thanks for the help,

Thanks guys. This particular speaker doesn't scratch...it just doesn't move at all. I'll try hooking it up to an amp...hopefully tomorrow. Just didn't want to cause more damage by hooking it up to the amp.

Looking for clarification

I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I'm just looking for a second opinion. When you press down on the cone of a speaker, if it's scratchy that indicates a problem with the voice coil. What if the cone will not move at all? Does this mean the speaker is blown? Is it possible that after sitting for ...

I picked this pamphlet up from the local car audio store. Back then I could only stare at the pictures and dream of a system like that. Now I'm slowly piecing together my old school system. It's always been MS and MPS for me though. http://picasaweb.google.com/Green93Toy/PhoenixGoldAds/photo#5222344...

You got lucky if the head gasket didn't cause any additional problems. How long has it taken you? When mine went it ended up being a full rebuild. It took me forever but she's better than new now. Plus I learned a lot about my truck.
