Re: EQ215x Not Powering Up
I actually fixed it as far as the power side goes. I replaced the mosfets and it powered right up. Now onto the output side. There is a rhythmic thud coming out of the low pass output.

EQ215x Not Powering Up
Hey guys, I bought a EQ215X (the newer all silver writing one) and the other day I went to test it before installing it and no power. I know this is a general question but where do I start for troubleshooting? I traced the 12v along the board and it looks like it is good up until it gets to the toro...

Re: M100 Schematic
I have the M50 in the place that the M100 will go right now and it sounds incredible @ 4 ohms coupled to a JL 10w6v2. I am excited to get the M100 rocking two of them. I have a pair of really nice XMAX 12's that may take the place of the JL's...thoughts? I am a sealed box guy and I think the JL's ar...

Re: M100 Schematic
Thanks for the reply. I finally had a moment where I thought of using my macro lens on my dslr and magnified the picture where I could read the whole code. Found the caps and we are good to go. I took the rectifiers out and troubleshot the issue down to a bad irfz44. It’s been fun dealing with this ...

M100 Schematic
***Edit*** Can I just get a schematic from someone? I opened up another M100 yesterday and it has been modified as well. I would like to take a look at the schematic to see what has been modified and how I can rectify it correctly with the correct parts. Let me know if this isn't possible and ill ju...

Re: M100...another jewel that was fiddled with
Where can I find the irfz transistors?
Whats a solid procedure to test the transistors?
I had to do a few via holes on the m50 so I’m familiar with that process...good call on testing them.

Re: M100...another jewel that was fiddled with
This may sound silly but would the vias for the resistor "mod" that was done, cause this? I can take them out along with the caps to check everything. Should i/How can i rule out the transistors? I have seen ways to test them but I have no experience with it. The PO said that 4/6 power sid...

Draw at idle is 4.7a. Red light turns on then goes off normally during startup.

Re: M100...another jewel that was fiddled with
pictures of the board? - I will post some tonight...be warned...it's bad. maybe the amp pulls to many current so you have a voltage drop. - Possible, see below Can you measure how many amps it uses? What is your power source? I am using a computer power supply which "should" supply 12v 18A...

M100...another jewel that was fiddled with
So on the heels of getting the M50 working, i opened up the M100 to see what the issues were with this guy. 1. Input Caps...replaced them and one was bad. Replaced the bad one. 2. Resistor mod...done very badly by the PO. I tried to repair but the resistors tested good. I will mark that as good, jus...

Re: M50 Shutting Off and with No Protect
take a look at this link: http://www.phoenixphorum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11910 I did end up finding that after scrolling. Can anyone verify that this is just a two-layer board, not a four-layer that someone mentioned above? I am not seeing any traces between the layers, just on the bottom and...

Re: M50 Shutting Off and with No Protect
Ok, so one rail cap tested bad. I took them out but I lost a solder pad in the process. From what I can tell, the solder pad does not have a trace on the bottom side. Is that pad just to hold it and the actual trace is on top? Can I just use the superglue method and re-attach it? thanks for the help...

Re: M50 Shutting Off and with No Protect
I clearly stated that the caps are getting replaced. I took the caps off and not a lot of leaky ones (1). What would cause the amp to just cut out?
