Re: LPL44 question
Yes, it's on a ti2 1600.5. It technically operates, just in a nonsensical manner. Is there a different/newer lpl I should be using?

Re: LPL44 question
Not a cross over. 30 out of a possible 40 on the HU sub output level. The item came with a PG LPL44 info/installation paper. However item and paper we're both shipped loose in a USPS box. I hope it's legit.

LPL44 question
Hey guys. I just installed an LPL44 and I'm not sure if I need to make some adjustments to my setup or if I got a dud. Currently, when turned all of the way down, it seems to kill sub output completely. When cracked open the smallest amount my fingers can move it, it jumps to about 70% of what the o...

Re: System Suggestions
hard to go wrong with the RSDC's for your 12's if you can find them. they're great in a sealed box. I hear the new edition of the Ti's are pretty similar.

Re: Voltage question
Its a Cadence 4 farad cap. I've got a stinger battery under the hood (don't remember the model, but I know its rated for my amps' needs). Vibe Audio 1500.1 and Vibe audio 75x2 for amps. 2 RSdC 12's for subs. 0g cable to the back, split to 4g and 8g for the amps. I'll prolly get the big 3 in there at...

Voltage question
The voltage readout on my capacitor (figured it couldn't hurt anything) never gets below 14v when the engine is running. Can I take this to mean that I'm getting adequate voltage to my amps don't have a need to wire up the big 3? BTW, the capacitor is downstream from the distro block inline with onl...

Yep, it's quality equipment. I've got the BlackBox Bass 5 class GH 1500.1 for my subs, too

Re: Not sure that it sounds quite right...advice would be go
it's not a lanzar vibe, it's a VIBE Audio. I dont have the VIBE amp output leads going to the back of the HU, they are connected to the wires leading to the speakers that i cut away from the factory amp's outputs. thnx guys

Re: Not sure that it sounds quite right...advice would be go
update...so I ended up cutting the speaker out leads away from the factory amp and instead connecting them to the leads from the VIBE amp. it was easy cuz the factory amp is right under the passenger seat. BIG DIFFERENCE. That factory amp was really fuckin up the sound.
Re: SQ Subs
Hey lets not all forget about the RSD's! Those things are super smooth.

Re: Not sure that it sounds quite right...advice would be go
The door speakers are running off of an aftermarket amp. But the factory amp is "between" the aftermarket amp and the speakers. Should I try to run my speaker wire directly from the amp to the speakers and bypass the wiring harness (and thus the factory amp also)? I considered doing that t...

Not sure that it sounds quite right...advice would be good
So, I've replaced the Monsoon head unit in my '05 Santa Fe with my trusty ol' aftermarket. Had trouble at first cuz I didn't even realize there was an external amp and shit wasn't working. Fixed that by adding a remote lead to the factory amp into the wiring harness. So then I put my Hertz comps in ...

Re: help designing a ported subbox
power wise, i've heard those L7's are pretty hungry, so it'd probably be a good idea to add a secod rsd1200 if you can...not that they wouldn't be respectable on just one.

Re: help designing a ported subbox
I would personally recalculate the port length for tuning around 30hz. other than that it sounds like a really solid setup for those subs if you have the room for that massive box :) there's nothing wrong with that size of your port opening. it's virtually the same sized as mine. having a large port...

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
I don't think it's a matter of them being more suited for sealed, I think it's that sealed boxes have a much higher margin of error. Had your box been tuned a little lower that roll off would be lower and really reinforce that bottom octave. The difference between 50hz and 30hz on the ported is muc...

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
lol thanks audiophyle...i was hoping i wasn't crazy :) seems where I may be mistaken (based on the graph) is in feeling that the sealed box was actually louder between around 20-35hz than the ported, whereas the reality is that it may just seem that way because it's output doesn't drop off from craz...

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
Ported 2 sub box external dimensions...H-16.5" W-32.1875" D-20"....single square port is 3.5"x15" with a length of 38.75". No poly fill or center divide. Don't have sealed box dimensions in front of me, but it's a basic homemade 1.25cu ft gross (per side) rectangle. Bot...

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
all I know is that my RSdC 12's had more authority in 25-35hz range in a 1.25cu sealed than they do now ported in 1.75cu tuned at 30 hz. The ported box is somewhat louder at around 45hz and above though.

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
seems like the numbers calculated would be so small that it would be a real talent to be able to tell the difference. I mean it seems like it would be about the same as making on speaker wire 10 ft longer then the other and then being able to tell the delay from one speaker to the other? Either way...

Re: EQ and You, Boost or Cut b/w ZOMG CLIPPING
This brings up a question that's nagged me for awhile. Most head units these days have a subwoofer level control. For example, mine goes from 0-12. At 0 the sub signal is completely cut off so I know it isn't a boost. Does this control how much of the available voltage for the sub out gets sent to t...
