Re: Leaking capacitor tutorial update
Hi B-Body Guy, If you need the input caps, use Nichicon UPW 5600uc 16V caps. Or you can use Panasonic FC series or Chemi-Con KYC. All great low ESR caps and rated for automotive use. As for the rail caps, those covers always fall off but the caps are probably fine. They are not culprits for leaking....

Re: Zx350 OVL then Steady Green after cap repair
Some of what is written below was mentioned in previous posts above but I decided to start from scratch. The last few months have been a blur so I'm going through the process I went through as I write it. So, after many testing and determination, this ZX350v1 has a new life! I purchased this amp onl...

Re: Zx350 OVL then Steady Green after cap repair
So all is good in the world now. Finally. With the help of Jason and my numerous questions (and he answered everyone!). So my amp had a few bad resistors in the right channel. No blown drivers but one fused resistors was shot and another couple burned to a crisp. I replaced them and my amp is better...

Re: Zx350 OVL then Steady Green after cap repair
So I have been doing a lot on this amp and keep finding little issues. I have also visited another forum on fb and learning a lot. So far I have pulled both bass boost and gain pots, opened them up, cleaned them up with deoxit and made major improvements. Then ended up breaking the ribbon cable sold...

Zx350 OVL then Steady Green after cap repair

I think everything went well but I energized the amp and the the OVL turns on for a second, the fan stops and then powers up again and get the green light. It stays lit and fan runs. This is with no speaker connected. So I then connected a speaker on o...

Re: Leaking capacitor tutorial update
Thanks ttocs. But as for the rail caps. Should I replace them with the same value or upgrade with a higher value? Anyone have a link for the digikey or mouser rail caps they used for a ZX 350, 450 amp? Also, did anyone replace the plexi windows on the side?

Re: Leaking capacitor tutorial update
Hi Guys/Gals, I'm new to the site and have been a car audio enthusiast for years. I used to have a Phoenix M50 and M25 in the late 90's and sold them with my mustang. Here I am as a family man and I just got a ZX350. I purchased off someone online and it was stored for 20 years wrapped up in a close...
