^^Wiring both out of phase would make them sound normal, but since your problem is fixed now, its irrelevant.

You will not be dissapointed with the pioneer unit. One thing to consider though is making a seperate ground to the chassis of the unit. They like good grounds, so make sure you provide one, other than the crappy one provided in the back of the hu.

As for 2 seperate sealed boxes, its just more of a hassle to deal with. YOu have to secure them in some way so that they dont hit each other and sound like crap. Its just more trouble than its worth, unless its some custom glased instal with an enclosure on each side of the trunk.

2 seperate boxes.. Im sure you can make a single enclosure fit in their with some decent box designing.

It has all those functions. To pause it you must go into the menu unfortunately.

Pioneer's lineup is great, especially the 880.
