... Echo... echo...
It's like a graveyard in here. I'm only posting this to see if the phorum is actually broken. I can't believe it's been 6 months since they're had been a post.

We still make them, but probably not fit much longer. I'm almost out of the specialty gain pot and I've not been able to source more.

1N5400.
Any standard 3a rectifier with a >50V rating will work fine though. Their only job is to go short circuit when reverse polarity is applied. Kind of the opposite of a fuse to ensure the actual fuse does go open

Re: PG M50 Where to find PS rectifier specs
If you tried to test the rectifiers in circuit they will always appear shorted. They cannot be tested in circuit as the transformer windings are directly across them. Out of hundred, I can count on one hand the number of PG amps I've had with shorted power supply rectifiers. It almost never happens ...

Yes, we still make them. We've been wading through some deep family shit over the past several months and have not been spending very much time online.
Tyrone, I sent you an email to the address that your friend in FB gave me.

Re: phoenix gold zx 450 zx350 potentiometer replacement + caps
Looking for a replacement capacitor for my zx450 Its 2200uf 16v 105deg C measures approx 18mm x 35mm You need to replace all the stock Panasonic caps in the power supply, not just one. They leak and will eventually cause the amp to catch fire. Other than that, any general purpose low esr cap will w...

I still have bc knobs available. My daughter makes them now, but we still have boards and parts. I've been making them for something like 15 years now. I have lpl44's as well. Pm for details.

Re: Titanium 800.1 Cuts out in Hot Weather
Iirc the polyswitch thermal sensors are designed to switch at 110° C. Obviously the interior of your car and amp should never be getting hot enough to boil water, sun or no sun. I expect that you still have something going on. In regards to your previous post, there are no transistors involved with ...

Re: Phoenix Gold Ti2 1300.1 diode
I've only worked on a few of the newer aamp PG products, but they are almost all common Korean designs with a bit nicer lipstick on them. You are going to have to figure out what is holding it in shutdown. Without a lot more information and without knowing your skill level or available tools, there ...

Re: PG Titanium 800.1 Stuck in Thermal Protection
I've never seen a bad thermal sensor on any of these. It uses several ptc polyswitches as thermal sensors. I'd still bet on the trace under the rca connector. It's far more rare and unlikely, but it could be a failing comparator which is used to supervise and trigger the different fault conditions. ...

Re: PG Titanium 800.1 Stuck in Thermal Protection
Was it working previously? Did you or someone else who is not a qualified tech disassemble and reassemble it? For that matter, tech or not, did anyone unfamiliar with these disassemble and reassemble it? If it went into thermal after being opened and then then reassembled, it's almost certainly a br...

Re: Nickel plated heat sinks
I've not done any extensive research to determine if there are other factors, but literally thousands of hardware items and fasteners are nickel plated. Pretty much any screw you purchase that is bright and shiny silver, but still magnetic, is a nickel plated fastener. As far as I know, there is no ...

I'm sorry for the delay, I thought I answered this when you first asked, but I must not have submitted the reply. I've never seen a tantrum with anything but irf540's. I'm not sure where you found the other info but I've repaired dozens of tantrums, they all use Irf540 outputs. First of all, there i...

Have you ready the manual for it find here: https://download.phoenixphorum.com/Manuals/Amplifiers/Titanium/Ti800_1Manual.pdf the crossover on this amp is pretty straight forward but some of the multi channel ti amps are extremely complex. The top scale on the rotary switch is supposed to be the amps...

Re: Zx350 OVL then Steady Green after cap repair
Overload led for a few seconds and then green led is normal startup behavior. The o/l led is lit while the poweramp is muted during power up. This is to keep any pops or thumps from hitting the speakers. The amp can easily overload a small DC power supply. You can run a more stout supply and either ...

Yeah, they are already charging sales tax on stuff whether it's new, used, or otherwise and then they want to get income tax too. We've given this ridiculous government way to much power. I'm not sure whom the taxes are helping, but it's not me. Most middle class Americans already have about a 38% t...

Re: 15F Ti Powercore 66.6F upgrade for a client
I made a bit more progress on these over the last few days. I had a feedback from a few people that they did not like the unobstructed view of the yellow supercaps. I designed a 3d printer bracket that allowed me to reinstall the original grate baffle above the caps. This also has to be filled and t...

What would you charge for this? Sorry Scott, I forgot to reply to your question. The cost of parts has been fluctuating a lot due to the new Asian import duties, but as of right now they are about $250 provided one sends me the case to make the mods and fit the new module. I'm finding that when a l...
