Re: New garage/shop construction.
For now, the garage will be much bigger than our house. But that will change in the new year. We will be taking down the house in April to build a new bigger one. Living in the garage while the new house is built? I can't quite make it out in the pictures, but have you used ICF for the below ...

Re: And So It Begins.........Again...
It's about 3 to 4 layers thick right now. I've used 1+1/2 mat packs, 1+2/3 cloths & almost an entire gallon of resin. I was thinking this should be thick enough, but it's only my 2nd attempt at fiberglassing so you think it should be thicker? For a sub enclosure I'd say 3 to 4 layers is a good ...

Re: Alpine Head Unit
I'm not sure but from what I read online when the sub volume is at +15 its like having it set at 0db. Its alpine way of doing it from what I read. I know if I have the sub volume at 0 I have to turn the gain up and with it at +6 to +8 I could have the gain set lower and it sound so much better. Thi...

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
Just to go back to this. I ended up wiring my RMD to the DD5. Outer two connections on RMD to one of the switched aux outputs on the DD5. Works just fine now :) It does appear to be reading a little bit low though. Say I have 12V at the DD5 (probed with two different DMM's) the RMD is reading 11.8V....

Re: best pg sq amp ever
Well I agree with zeropoint above - the v1 fan makes much less noise than the v2 ones, but even that is way louder than the 4 fans I have pulling air out of the false floor area (and I mean all 4 added together!). To be fair they are thermistor controlled so will only be ticking over most of the tim...

Re: Audi S4 Avant - Alpine, PG, Focal, ID (pic heavy)
Thanks
Currently working on making the door builds a little more interesting and incorporating grilles.
I'm also having thoughts about including some subtle lighting in the doors. I wasn't going to go all fancy like that, but what the heck, I can always switch it off if I don't like it

I forgot to update this topic! I've now finished off the A pillar builds. I won't bore you with all of the actual build pictures but they can be found here if you want. They are a sealed airspace of 0.5 Litres, heavily lined with a cocktail of resin, chopped strands and lead shot to give a nice soli...

Re: best pg sq amp ever
the panaflo fans in the V1 models(zx , zpa) bearing type was hydro wave, the adda fans in the V2 models were ball bearing. ball bearing will make way more noise..... I'll have a listen tomorrow. I have 3 V2's and a single V1. My midbass ZX350's are one of each version running exactly the same load ...

Re: best pg sq amp ever
The only problem I see with ZX amps is also a major problem with ZPA amps, the fans. As much as I prefer a fan in an amp, PG ran these fans way to fast. Either a ZX or a ZPA has too loud of fans to be used in the same cabin as the listener. I hear what you're saying on this one. Or rather I would i...

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
EDIT: missed your reply mate - I'll try those two pins and see what happens. Cheers. You should probe with a multimeter first. Of course, I was just being brief in my reply :) I'll see what sort of current the volt meter draws, check which pins give a switched output, and no doubt post back here fo...

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
I'm stuck where you are paintguy... mine also just stays on. Was thinking of probing the two unlabeled leads to see if they are switched power. If not, ill just wire it into the remote and ground I guess, or use some sort of relay. If you had a DD5/10 that would be a good source. Yep, I'm planning ...

Re: zx 500 2ohm bridged
For example, I ran a 200A circuit breaker under the hood of my vehicle, but had a 50A fuse in a distribution block for my ZX500. Similar here. I have a 150A fuse up front near the battery (which I may up to a 200A if needed), then the distribution block near the amps has a 50A for the ZX500, 50A fo...

Re: zx 500 2ohm bridged
manual said @full power and peak it would need a 80amp fuse. if your poping that i would say you driving the amp into clipping That's not quite how I read the manual. Yes it says maximum peak current draw can be 80A, but still gives a recommended fuse size of 50A. The peak draw should be for such a...

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
This is the item I mean:

It comes with a 4 pin plug, but the RDDP output socket on the amp is 8 pin, hence the need for some rewiring

I like those terminals too - just what I was looking for a while back. Are they a current model or still readily available? Any links?

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
Me again  Well I converted the wiring from my RMD as per the above, using an RJ45 plugs etc. It works fine in as much as it displays the voltage correctly, but the gauge never switches off. Is this what you'd expect or have I done something wrong? Clearly I don't want the gauge on all the t...

Re: A few quickie random MS2250 questions..
I'd more or less agree too. Thinners shouldn't remove the powder coat, but it may mar it slightly. You might find it polishes back up afterwards though. I don't know if there is any screen print on those items, but I'd expect thinners to take that off. At the end the day you need to do something wit...
