PR's are typically a bad idea in an auto environment. Durability is not their strong suit. Having that much mass attached to the back of the PR in a vehicle that bounces around is not a good idea.

I love the amp and ironically enough, since posting here, I've rarely had this problem... I'm sure this amp is going to last me a long time.

I also using what seems to be the popular choice CDA-9887. It was the only unit that my dealer could get that would allow me to run an active set up.

I've been happy with it, so far.

Kind of my way of thinking, as well... output should be more or less the same, maybe a little louder and sound quality should be similar or a little better, too.

I mean, I can here the fan spool up for 3-5 seconds everytime I power up the system... but this is a fairly loud hum that lasts for 1-3 minutes, but only occurs during the very first time I power up any given day... the est of the day, it won't do it. I have a PG X100.4 with a strange noise issue. The noise comes from within the amp itself and is not reproduced within the music. It's a hum, if you will.

It only happens the very first time I start my car every morning and is silent within a minute or two... strange.

Any ideas?
