Yeah I got that amp to replace my Pioneer PRS-860MP that developed the dreaded pico fuse issue. As you said I could not find anything even close to the price that would do all this does. The crossover is the main reason I got it as I wanted to run my components active. The main gripe many people had...

Well when I saw the cables looked like they were touching the metal next to my head unit I insulated them and tried a different amp and that was working ok so I think the cables and connection and stuff should be ok.

Amp problem please help

Ok well my xenon 200.2 stopped putting out sound. I think I know what may have happened but not completely sure. I think the RCAs going to it got grounded to the chasis (stupid me forgot to put electrical tape on them last time I was messing with them). Anyway I opened the amp up and the only damage...

You could do 2 runs of 4 gauge. I have heard of people doing that because in some cars its easier to route that then a thick 0 gauge wire.

Thanks guys for all the help and suggestions I couldn't get a hold of the repairs person at PG today so I will try them tomorrow. I was afraid to connect the sub to another amp. Nothing like this has even happened before and I have installed a few different setups in my cars. Anyhow I might bite the...

I took a reading off of the speaker cable and it read 4.5 ohms. I wanted it wired to 4 ohms so that is ok isn't it? When the amp went toast is it possible it could have messed up the sub?

Thanks so much for the thorough reply. I got the amp off ebay the previous owner claimed it was never powered up but it was opened so not sure. As far as the sub wiring it is a brand new sub I will check the wiring but pretty sure its ok how can I check if the VC is shorted? Thanks.

http://i38.tinypic.com/4kz6z7.jpg Took the cover out and here is what I saw. I know the picture is crap sorry. There is some scorching under the rails (is that what they are called, they look like that anyway) closest to the speaker input. Only those four had it the rest did not have any scorching ...

Yeah I saw that. Sucks because that is more then I paid for the amp. I disconnected everything and the fuses in the amp are fine they did not burn out. So I guess I am definitely screwed.

no, they are sealed over with plexi glass. can't really think of a weak point in the amp that would cause this. Yeah me either. I might have gotten a lemon. Figures I got a smokin deal on it :P. I am going to recheck everything and I might try changing the fuses but the smoke and smell tells me she...

RSD 1200.1 smoking am I dead in the water?

I got an RSD1200.1 off ebay and hooked her up. Long story short after powering up the head unit I heard some pops and she was smokin. I was pretty miffed and thought I must have hooked it up backwards. Checked that and ground and power were hooked up correctly. No signal was even going to the sub as...

Oh and don't worry wiring them the other way won't kill the tweeters. In fact some people wire them this way because depending on your install it sometimes sounds better.

I just got an RSD1200.1 for my sub but I have a Xenon 200.2 for my fronts and I highly recommend it. Great amp and as other's have mentioned great crossover. It also has never quit on me from overheating and out here in vegas that is something. I used to have a titanium 800.1 and in the summer month...

Aren't those the amps Image Dynamics make? I don't find it surprising those are being recommended in the ID forum. I am sure they are really good amps not downing them ID makes very good stuff. I used to have an IDMAX myself and it was an awesome sub.

Are the RSD amps any good?

Hey all just wondering people's opinions of these amps? I was going to get a xenon 600.1 to match my 200.2 but I was able to get a RSD1200.1 on ebay for 166 shipped. So did I make the wrong choice? Also just wondering will the RSD1200.1 run at 1ohm? I will probably end up running it at 4 ohm because...
