i actually followed this tutorial right here, http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=143 which gives voltages for the amps at different loads, an what test tones to use. i've heard numerous poeple tell me about 50hz and using 1khz as well, and it was only right now did i learn anything ...

First and foremost... in North America, unless you have a True RMS voltmeter, you absolutely must use a 60Hz test tone, otherwise you will not get a proper voltage reading. JL Amp... since it makes the same power from 1.5-4 ohms, you have to calculate it as if it was a 4 ohm load. So... sqrt(500*4)...

thinkin about gettin some RSDC's...should i do it?
Currently I have the pg rsd12d w/ jl 500/1 amp as well as pg rsd 300.4 pg rsd65cs and pg rsd65....nothing is installed yet except the rsd12d and jl500/1 but from just reading this forum...how everyone is going crazy over the rsdc...shit...should i just get one before its gone? im satisfied with rsd....

yes...but dont get the knu klm 8awg kit for that amp. it uses copper clad aluminum which will put it right at the edge of that amps current draw. buy the kolossus flex in bulk or go with the klm 4awg kit, or komplete 8awg kit so whats the difference between komplete 8awg and komplete 4 channel amp ...

Realistically, that amp has way more than enough power to kill those RSD comps....I have personally heard the ZX450 on the comps and it goes SUPER LOUD without clipping at all......the ZX amps have mega headroom, there is more to look at than just power ratings.....the ZX amp also has the built in ...
