Re: Elite.5 vs TI1600.5
Holy. That's some mod list. I keep my major mods to my race car. Only replaced suspension with bilstein height adjustables front simota 4 pot calipers and rotors so she stops when I need. Just going to do basic dump pipe flow and reprogram ecu. Running rota 8.5" wheels with 235/40/18 good years...

Re: Elite.5 vs TI1600.5
I just swapped out my zx450 and zx500 for the elite .5. There is def more power there but space of sound has changed. A sense of smoothness. Currently only running 4 ohm sub so amp not being asked to do much. Have 2 ohm spg-555 Boston coming. The biggest thing I notice is the smile on my face. That'...

Odd. Most modern caps are higher rated per size vs old units. I wonder if they have been replaced already? It wouldn't 'hurt' the amp. It would just have less power supply capacitance. You prob wouldn't notice any sound diff For the price of new caps I wouldnt hesitate to upgrade rather than downgra...

Does your wire have a flux type core? Just interested to know.
With my tig you can't weld without pure argon or helium argon mix.

Re: Anyone here know how to weld aluminum?
Looking all good so far. Practice with purpose is the best. When using my tig there is no sparks what so ever. You could weld in your tux.... I'm used to using a mig welder on normal steel. Some freakin hot sparks had my fair share of burn spots and hot bits in the Hair! Most people use ac/dc tig we...

Re: Anyone here know how to weld aluminum?
Unfortunately I'm not exp with alloy mig welding although have exp tig welding. What gas are you using? Are the people/shop you brought the equipment from able to shed some light on the subject? Alloy is a funny beast when it comes to welding. I take it you're scoured the net for resources on the su...

Re: History of Boston Pro components - models, changes etc?
oooh, this could be my department, I too have a huge place for Boston in my life, home theatre, living area, work place, and both our cars. I'm not a Boston dictionary, Boston released 6.x series then the pro 60SE, I would recommend going for the latest model Pro series, or if your lucky the ZR refe...

Yes. No doubt the ms2125 plenty of power but the cosmetics of the 2125 and 2250 melt me to my knees. The ms275 doesn't do anything for me cosmetics.
Ill start digging. Looking at options. Cheers

Nico. Impressed with what you have done and interested to take some if your ideas and toy with them myself. I'm not sure if you have given links or what not. But is there any DIY builds using horns that you recommend. Amp system you run is custom I see. I have 2 x ms2125 currently. And thinking of h...

Re: XLR Connectors for Sub
Xlr connectors should be good for 15 amps I'm sure it will be fine but ideally it has been superseded by Speakon connector which would be the latest preferred method. Just do a search for Speakon connector for details. PA speakers have very high currents running into them in many situations so I do ...

Re: SQ Subs
Id second the notion to go 12". And I have ran a 18" cerwin stroker (dual spider) and was amazed with the tightness and accuracy so size would not be most important to me. More so volume of box. My ideal is fitment and optimum output. I run 12" Boston acoustic 12.5 pro. Fantastic sub....

Re: Mp3 means less bass?
My experience. I tested out 320k mp3 vs cd. And I could not tell the difference after an hour of careful listening back and forth. Same source to keep it fair. Digital into my marantz receiver. And my high end car system. So I shrugged my shoulders and got on enjoying my life and listening to copiou...
Re: Tweeters!
The tweeters have been relisted

Hope link works
I was sure the pro gear is 3 ohm
And an obvious match for Boston woofers gotta be Boston tweeters. They going cheap too.

Re: ipad to car amplifier setup
I've found mounting options but not important to me compared to connection. Ill check out Sony though I'm not a fan. I did hear and judge a Sony competition system years back which was good. But otherwise not too impressed with their stuff.
