Re: TI265PS MSRP?
I'm putting two sets in my wife's car in about a month, but that doesn't help you now I guess.

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?
Yes, but the Elites are some of the best sounding amps ever built by anyone, not just Phoenix Gold. The Ti2's aren't supposed to compete with the Elites. They are after all one third the size of the Elites. But, Drock says the only amp he has that sounds noticeably better than the Ti2 is his Elites,...

Words can't describe how amazing this install is. I hope I have the opportunity at some point in my life to see this inperson.

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?
The Ti2's are class D amps, which means they are 80% efficient. The "big" Ti amps are class A/B, which means they are about 50% efficient. The less efficient the amp is, the more heat it generates. I have a class d sub amp and A/B four channel, and after an hour of hard jamming the four ch...

Re: CES 2014 News
Looks like the old SD series had them one upped in power, and in cosmetics too (imho). I'm certainly not a fan of the way these SX's look. Uggggly. Wonder what else they have going on? i think they were inteding it to replace the "s" line that was also a small forum factor: http://www.sou...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?
They are about $600 or so. If you have the money, but not the space to run three 2011 Ti's, and are now considering a pair of Ti2's, I'd just get an Elite.5 and be done with it. 1 ohm power on that amp is about 1150 rms, plenty to push a pair of Ti2 subs, and the full range channels deliver just as ...

Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?
I was never a fan of Quart back when they were regarded as awesome. I just never liked the sound of their tweeters. They were too harsh to me. Now that Quart is a shadow of what it was back then, I find it hard to believe that they'd be better than they were then.

Re: The New ti21600.5
Neither here nor there at this point, but I just committed to buy one for the install in my wife's car. I would have bought my old Elite.5 back since they still have it, but no way in hell it'll fit where I need it to go.

Re: The New ti21600.5
Sounds awesome. I'm glad someone is finally putting an Elite head to head with some other amps to prove what we've been saying all along.
Re: 2014 CES
From what I've gleaned it is basically just a class d rebranding of the SD amps. Looks like a rebranding of the entry level gear is all. Until someone says different I'm assuming the Ti2 amps will be above these. The most intriguing thing from the line IMO is the 8" sub.

Re: My Install
Did you remove the insulation on the wall behind the amps? With the heat sinks on the bottom of the Elites I'd worry about that insulation trapping heat. The Elite.1 doesn't run hot, but the Elite.4 can get up there on long listening runs. Mine does anyway. I love what you did with the back doors. W...

Re: what would do... with a sofas
lol- but I have to say not a fan of RF item but they don't have leaking caps.... and I think at the time there sub were miles ahead of pg subs The leaking caps wasn't Phoenix Gold's fault. They just bought their caps from the wrong manufacturer, along with several other amp makers at the time. I ca...

Re: CES 2014 News
I'm still holding out hope that they have a 3 way add-on in the works for the Elite components. If this is all they are unveiling at CES I am going to be sorely disappointed. Kenwood is making the most noise as far as new product releases including an amp designed for ATV's, and Precision Power has ...

CES 2014 News
Phoenix Gold is coming out with an SX line this year. Looks to me like it will be similar to, and perhaps replace the R line. http://www.gizmofusion.com/2014/01/phoenix-gold-introduces-sx-series-amplifiers-subwoofers-and-speakers-at-2014-consumer-electronics-show/ EDIT: Upon further comparison it lo...

Re: what would do... with a sofas
You said the sub was rated at 200rms not 1k also what car. I want loud and older style The old Fosgate stuff was stupidly underrated. I knew a guy back in the day that had a pair of Punch Series 1 15's running off of a Punch 200, and those subs were only supposed to take about 200 rms. I kind of th...

Re: Music Editing Software
Have you messed around with the "Clip Fix" effect? When I imported Master Of Puppets, Battery was clipped all to hell fresh off the cd. I went "clip fix-Normalize-EQ-Normalize", and the track that audacity spit out actually had less distortion than the CD version. Kinda blew my m...

Very cool Ajaye, thanks! I'm working through some of these albums, seeing what I can do to them. My biggest complaint at this point is that my truck is in the driveway, and my headphones don't sound like my truck. Re: Elite.65cs versus HAT Imagine
Correct if im wrong the elite have a 499 retail not 350? Im noy say hi end focal but there a ton of nicer sounding speaker at 500 The msrp is $399, and can actually be had for about $350 from a dealer, even if they don't like you much. Hell, I bought two sets NIB on ebay a few months back for $200 ...

Re: Elite.65cs versus HAT Imagine
You're right. The Elite speakers are above average, not amazing, but the thread isn't about comparing those speakers against Utopia Be's. They're in a mid-level pricepoint for components speakers. They're supposed to only be above average. Personally, I'm not the kind of person that is going to sit ...

Re: Elite.65cs versus HAT Imagine
If the Imagines sound better and can take the power, they are definitely better speakers, especially since they're cheaper. Comparing the Elite.65's to the Morel Ti's isn't really fair because they cost a lot more. The new Morel and Focals sound better, but also cost more. It isn't about whether or ...
