Re: 1997 BMW 525tds Touring Oldschool Install
I dug into this failure the last two days and thought that the amp was a total writeoff but have learned that the damage wasn´t as bad as it looked. http://imageshack.us/a/img547/2790/96k0.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img585/2104/3his.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img823/3074/iwrq.jpg I managed to repair...

Cap question MS2250
Would it be a real problem to replace the output caps from a MS2250 that use to be 6800uF 63V from the factory with caps that are physically the same size but only have a value of 5800uF ?

As soon as somebody comes up with an oldschool amp project all the blokes come crawling out of their hideouts.
Great project! Keep us posted. Hopefully you´re using metric screws...

The hood is almost done and just the end towards the windshield is undergoing some minor changes. I don´t like how it´s just cut off. http://imageshack.us/a/img14/5049/6k81.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img577/6231/p8v6.jpg On top of that i won the auction for a mechanical six pack setup today. Re: 1997 BMW 525tds Touring Oldschool Install
Í´ll have time to dig into this next week, but what i can tell for sure is that the elektrolyte spread out all over the board and the whole thing didn´t happen all of a sudden but appeard slowly starting with a strange noise coming from the door speakers on the driver side. That rules out a dead sho...

Re: 1997 BMW 525tds Touring Oldschool Install
Indeed, one of the output caps was leaking and destroyed some more parts within the amp. I don´t mind the repairs i have to do to the board an don´t know yet if i can fix it but the fact that the perfect plexi is toast now really pisses me off. :( And yes, i redid the whole amp but wanted to keep th...

Re: It is done! 70 Dodge Charger
I took my top lid off the intake yesterday to service my carbs and change the main jets of the center one. The factory ones that were in there have been too small. Today i got a call from my body shop guy that they also continued to work on my hood. Took some pictures of it. Will pick it up thursday...

We had temperatures close to 40°C the last few days and that took it´s total on my sytem last friday. Didn´t take the amp apart yet but i think there is a lot of damage underneath the burned up parts. At least i know that i´ll replace all output caps from my 2250´s as well now. http://imageshack.us/...

I kinda like how the cables hang down from the Cyclones too. My only wish would be to hear it with som...

The clones do the whole job! There´s no need to install other subs if your kicks can take over at 60Hz. I´m only running the two Cyclones in my car. Low pass is set at 60Hz. I´m soooooo happy with them that the Focal 46KX4 went into the shelf in the basement again.

is the hood scoop going to actuate up/down with the throttle? Did you get those cut outs? Re: 1997 BMW 525tds Touring Oldschool Install
Nice amount of work for three days! How are you planning on cooling everything? I purchased 6 pieces of radial fans already that will be mounted on a board upfront the amps and drive air underneath them. The flow will be along the cooling fins and drive the hot air out on the backside of the amps a...

Re: 1997 BMW 525tds Touring Oldschool Install
I´ve been working on the Bimmer the last three days and got a lot done. The amp rack has been fitted into the spare tire boot and now everybody might understand why i let the MS1000 Nickel go. Once the rack is lowered i can just put the original lid onto the boot and the amps are not visible anymore...
