Re: Scion Tc Install (2006 Install Gutted, New Stuff!)

*** UPDATE 2013 *** As of August 2013, I sold off my horrible Alpine PDX amps, my much-missed RSDc sub and my Alpine Head CDA-9887 Head Unit. The RSD comp set was pretty much toast, so those had a burial. My new setup consists of a JL 1200/1v3 1200 watt amp, a JL 300/4v3 300 watt amp, 2 JL 12W6v3 12...

Re: SQ Subs

I'd second the JL w6v3 subs. I just installed two of the 12" version sealed, and they have been exceeding my wildest expectations daily. Before those, the PG RSDc subs were doing it for me in the SQ department. The JL subs are a pretty penny, but I'm glad I took the plunge.

Re: 2012 Chevy Silverado (Full Phoenix Gold Install)

Nice setup!! I used to have a '95 Silverado back in the day, and it's actually pretty amazing what you can fit in the cab area. I used to have a set of Crystal Components (whatever happened to those guys?!) in the doors, and 2 Infinity Perfect 12" subs sealed in a custom enclosure under the rea...

Re: Phoenix Gold Bass Cube

I wish I would've seen this post earlier. I just sold a new bass cube and a TLD66 on ebay last week. BIN, they both went within about 10 minutes. It's great too see there's still a lot of interest in PG product out there.

Trying to Find Replacement Amp Board for JBL Powered Sub

Hi Guys, I've put in an e-mail to the parts department at Harman to see if they still stock the 104HKTS1400V-E for my JBL SUB10, but my question is this... Would it be possible to purchase an aftermarket amp board section for my sub? From the looks of it, I don't think this one can be repaired. The ...

That was fun. When I got home, I re-measured the internals and this sucker is actually 1.46 cu ft. Luckily I had enough spruce 2 x 2 to built some bracing all around and bring the box down to 1.25 cu ft. Funny thing is, when I had the RSDc 12 in this same box, it still sounded pretty damn good in 1....

Thanks again guys. I figured it out, and four 13" x 2" x 2" internal braces will bring me right down to 1.25 cu ft.

Cool. Works for me! I've got some 2" x 2" that I can just stick in there for bracing.

Really Quick, Stupid Question on Sealed RSDC12 Enclosure

Hey guys, I've spent the last couple hours on here searching, trying to find the answer to this... I know Brian recommends 1.25 cu ft for a single sealed RSDC 12, but is this before or after .13 cu ft displacement? Just wondering if I should be building a new box, or if I can get away with the total...

I've got a handful of these somewhere, as we use them all the time at work for switching hubs and mic line amps made by AMX and ClearOne. I snagged a bunch for a Bass Cube I bought awhile back. PM me if you still need one and I can ship it out for you.

the 1200.1 is the only once I've had a major problem with, relating to the tri-path. i had to have a 600.4 sent in a couple years ago to have the pots and the ribbon cable replaced, but it's been a brute ever since, never exhibiting a single issue. the 500.2 is a miniature tank. i love it.

After running a Tantrum 1200.1 for quite some time, and several other D amps in the past, I decided to switch things up last year and drop in a Tantrum 500.2 to a single RSDc 12". I can tell a huge difference in clarity compared to just the 1200.1 alone. Everything just sounds more realistic an...

This definitely brings back memories of stripping out my Scion Tc and deadening. The doors were the worst part hands down. I ended up doing the aluminum flashing along with short self-tapping sheet metal screws and expanding foam here and there. Total night and day difference with the RSD mids, and ...

are you running separate sets of RCAs for the front and rear channels? If so, the amp should be set to "R" on the input select. Also, if the HU has x-over, i would definitely bypass the x-overs on the amp. i actually had that crackling issue when i first got my 600.4 years ago. i sent it i...

i set the mid-high to 2.5kHz and the tweeter to 3.2kHz (both at 24db) and I have to say, it sounds a lot better now. things sound a bit more spacial and detailed. we'll see if i get any breakup on the tweeter during the drive home. didn't want to piss off anyone in the parking lot here at work.

yep, I used a DMM a long time ago when I did the install and set the amp to the proper gain relating to the voltage calculations. They ran well for about a year and a half, so I can't get too bummed out. We had a LOT of heavy rain here in FL the last couple months, so I wonder if some got down there...

Ran through a bunch of stuff, and finally took the door panel off this evening to find QTY. 1 fried midrange. Luckily, I've got a new set of comps arriving tomorrow, and I think for good measure I'm going to replace both L and R.

I'm guilty. Back in the day I used to have a 12" HX2 running off a 500.1 BD or whatever the hell it was called. It wasn't too bad, but I remember it sounding like crap at higher levels. I eventually switched to 2 12" Infinity Perfects (loved those), and a JBL 1200.1 amp. I think I had crys...

Oh, I should've mentioned, I've got the comp set running active, and all channels with the exception of the RF (tweeter is running off of RR) sound absolutely fine. I think I'll also DMM the leads on the amp and see if they're outputting a close to equal voltage. I'll definitely check the door wirin...

Can a "Blown" Midrange Still Have Output?

I noticed something kind of "off" the last few days with the front stage of my setup...Like hardly anything coming from the RH-side RSD65cs midrange, and no matter the amount of time correction, things were still sounding whacked out. I never crank my stereo beyond its capabilities, so it ...
