Re: Balancing Act vs high end RCA interconnects for HU to Ge
Line driver, or balancing act, there's gonna be at least one "piece" up front. The Audison accepts up to 5v, and dishes out what it gets. It's more of a toying idea than not, in using line drivers AFTER the Audison... all PG stuff takes 8V inputs. Either: - FR/FL/SUB to the back via RCAs(t...

Can we vent in here? I need a brick wall.
So I got another amp in the mail. 3rd one now, in about 2months, that got damaged in shipping. And I emphasize to the sellers to pay attention to packaging.. This stupid idiot twitt send my RF in a box, only with air bag packaging. Clank Clank Clank. Argh!!! Chipped power terminal, and more paint fl...

Asphalt stinks... but al stuff is the way to go. I've seen and read horror stories with the cheap asphalt based solutions...like the ghetto roofing ice barrier stuff!

Re: Balancing Act vs high end RCA interconnects for HU to Ge
I asked a car audio veteran here local to me..he suggested using the balancing act.
I have two pld1s. ..one for the front stage and one for the sub.. and running them after the bit one sounds like a good idea? That's nice to know
Anybody else with input?

Re: Sound deadening advice, options, deals, pricing.
Well, the car's carpet is coming up when I run the wires.. so something is going down on that floor while it's apart... the doors are for sure getting some sticky treatment.. anything is better than nothing, hence, the asking you all for an opinion. My car's interior noise is not that bad, it's an M...

Balancing Act vs high end RCA interconnects for HU to Gear
The balancing act setup vs high end RCAs for the head unit to the gear in the back.. which would you people use/prefer? Pros cons? I just might have the choice in using either the balancing act setup OR my 5 meter long QLX quadralink cables ... wondering which one to use. Or to add another variable,...

Re: Sound deadening advice, options, deals, pricing.
That's what I'm talking about. I realize that dynamat is the original, and it's just like all those rich goofs that buy ultra high end clothes.. Just for the tag. Lmao. Dynamat is good stuff.. But I work for my money. A bang for the buck, good product, for a reasonable price is what I want. Not dirt...

Ok, next on my list of stuff to acquire, is the title. What got the low down... Bang for the buck.. Better places to buy... Unless a bunch of you hoard this stuff too lol. Got a local guy to me, offering ~25 sq feet of dynamat extreme for 250$ cdn. As a partial trade towards my JL HD600/4 amp. Haven...

Re: Isobaric sub boxes
I just got up, and reading the first couple pages.. I want to go back to bed lol. It would be awesome of Larry Frederick could explain this article to me, with curse words.. that would be fun. I'll give it a wack later. So from what you've said, it would be 'advantageous' of me to say, use the entir...

Re: Isobaric sub boxes
In a vw rabbit. Port would shoot right up at the 45 degree hatch windows. Small interior. Fresh subs. Epicenter. Audio control line driver, eqx. Sounded pretty good. Used to cook my alternators very 4-5 months.. 12mins to change it, down pat. Then the tree got in the way... I doubt they would do tha...

Re: Isobaric sub boxes
With an isobaric setup, you run twice the power to twice the coils, because the dual motors have twice the force, so you can get by with half the box size. Well, audio manufacturers took note of this and started building subs with bigger coils, bigger magnets, and stronger overall parts. I would sa...

Isobaric sub boxes
Anybody use one here? I still have my sapphire 12s in such a box, from 20some years ago. "Small" footprint. 2ohms/reversed parallel wired. All things considered, being in original owners car, my VW back then, and my various living room home theatre setups... And recently used it on a 2000k...

Re: 2003 mk4 gti set up
I'm ditching the rear speakers/seats/spare tire in my mk4. Dead weight, and pointless rear speakers for passengers.. nobody counts but the driver :) Components up front. Put the sub in the spare tire well. Buy a 20$ air compressor and tire plug kit. Amps on the back seats, or ditch the seats like me...

Re: I think I have a problem
That's why I always buy shelves. Handier.. and those commercial grade ones, from Costco, good for an insane amount of weight. Fully adjustable to height, using wedges, and can be on kick ass casters. Just need to wrap things though, or keep in boxes.. Cabinets are great too.. except when you have to...

Walk into the closet and find her vise(shoes/purses/we all have something) and notice that she has so many, can only wear one at a time when is she going to start selling them? Repeat every other week JUST to the point that her eyes glow, not to the point that lazers come out of her eyes. I don't s...

Scotts is a great guy many thanks over the years I think most are here, from what I've been reading. Only been around for a few months.. and that's why I'm sticking to this site. I spend enough time wasting time on here, I don't need to be on a bunch of forums. BTW, what part of Canada you in? I'm ...

happy to help. Its one of those things I have been hoping to find someone that could make a happy home for it. I guess I could have thrown it on ebay and jacked it up to $100 as I am sure the European customers would love it :) Whahh? You saying that these bottom plates are that rare, pricey or har...

Stick with 8.1pro or 7. Let others be the guinea pigs. I test ran 10 on a scrub laptop... Video issues.. Kinda perhaps what you're having. Flushed. Back on 7. My server is on 7...had it not been for that one power outtage, around Xmas, I'd be in the 7month range of continuous uptime.. And before tha...

Re: I think I have a problem
What do I want? Lots of things. Standard answer hehehe But I have question. With everyone hoarding amps on shelves and whatnot, with most of them having the leaky cap syndrome, would it not make sense in REMOVING the old caps? Either putting new ones on then and there, or just removing the oldies to...

Re: I think I have a problem
Not too many high end amps like some of you... But I only started snorting PG again less than 4 months ago. Dabling into other recreational brands too... You know.. When you're tempted off the LCD... But my main abuse is the M line. Fell off the Wagon. I have been PG free for 20 years... Gonna need ...
