Re: xs 2500 Xover
Let the HU handle everything just to make sure your roll off is the same rate and the same alignment/crossover type (LW, BW etc). If you filter your low pass at the HU and again at the amp, technically you are creating a steeper rolloff for the low pass stop band. The stop bands above the low pass b...

Re: Need a good SQ 12
I'm with Stipud. (I really just posted to say that). Pop it out of the box and play it with the volume down is the easiest first step. Could be tons of easy fixes. Unless you got paper like that, than f it, go buy a new ti sub!

Re: Need a good SQ 12
btw you can simulate the sub in your car too if need be using Audacity. Rip a track from a cd that you play in the car or use any audio file of a song and open with Audacity, highlight the whole track (edit menu; select all). Then from the Effect menu select LowPass Filter, enter the frequency you r...

Re: Need a good SQ 12
Hold on man... figure out what this tapping is first! Are you sure you're not clipping? Is your signal feed good? Take the sub out of the box and play it free air (at a slightly lower volume) and see if you can figure out what's causing the noise. x2 My RSDc 12 is 4 years old and still rocking hard...

Re: What's your take?
That mini DSP looks awesome by the way. I've got a set of tower speakers I plan on converting to bi amp with active xover, and for what I'd spend on an average analog filter unit I think this may be worth the extra few $$.

Re: What's your take?
Substage: 15" IB. Most likely the Pyle blue label. Yes, laugh, but this is a GREAT woofer used in the right application. I'll take a decent, efficient driver with the knowledge of how to install and tune properly over huge power high dollar stuff almost every time, but I'm different (and poor)...

Re: Bass Cube problem.... not about the remote, lol
The outer metal part is how the ground reference signal/shield is received by the device. You can probably try sliding it back on, but those jacks are very inexpensive and pretty simple to remove/replace so I would just replace it. Some googling and a few practice runs with the soldering iron should...

I promised I'd come back to the newer dance stuff too. Admittedly since I quit DJing, or DJing as a job at least, I have barely been keeping up with new stuff at all, so this isn't the "latest and greatest" but its stuff I was playing out a couple years ago and still dig now. I don't know ...

Re: Music
do they still use cassettes in the music industry in the 4-track format? I am sure the mainstream has gone all digital just wasn't sure if they still used them or not. There are some bands that I guess would be considered part of a "lo fi" scene that I can't imagine ever recording or prod...

Re: Music
For starters, who gives a fuck about cassettes? If you were an audiophile back then, then well into the late 80's you were still buying 12" singles and/or LPs. It was the norm to have a single mixed and mastered specifically for the 12" release vs the cassette singles/album and LP if spac...

Any music pre dating CDs has very little bass You do realize that analog tape was the primary method of tracking in just about every major recording studio on earth well into the 90's, right? Re: Question about partially using passive xover
Before you consider getting a ZX250, consider a ZX450 instead. Then use one ZX450 for the left, and one for the right. You can choose to bridge them, or not, and you get the most configuration options, plus true dual mono for the best stereo separation. I like this option a lot actually, very good ...

Re: Question about partially using passive xover
bridging the amp would mean you use the pos left and neg right of the front, and the same for the rears. Right, but that would be a mono-bridge. I was asking for clarity on the stereo bridge. Thanks though. what ttocs said is how you'd achieve a stereo bridge. The amp's front L+R would be bridged t...

Holy dickballs... for $80 thats a steal. They even have the brittle foam trim attached! The left one looks slightly scuffed on the dustcap but the right one looks great. You'll want to hook them up to power to make sure they aren't blown of course. Well assuming the seller won't have anything set u...

Here's the only pic he had up. Hard to really tell much, is it just me or does the dust cap on the right one look a tad misshapen?
