Re: Getting geared up

more voltage only helps if you are running unregulated power supplies if I am not mistaken. Yeah, there's that. Fwiw all of the new Phoenix Gold lines of amps have unregulated power supplies. Not sure about the QX series though. Not absolutely sure, but I don't think the Qx's are unregulated. The ne...

Re: Getting geared up

I was wondering whether it would be worth the investment to go ahead and get the 300amp Powermaster XS SPL alt. nowfor second alt. Well, I am having an Elite.4 and Elite.1 installed next week, which is 600+ watts rms of class A/B power and 2400+ watts rms of class D power, and I am going with a dua...

Re: Getting geared up

I guess it depends on how over the top you want to be. You're looking at running five amps, and even though they total 150 amps in fuses, you want headroom on the electrical system to maybe add a more powerful sub amp later. If it was me, which is what you asked for, I tend to think I would just de...

I assume Itll go battery then fuse or breaker then isolator then what? Do I put a fuse right after isolator going to the back of truck or do I put a fuse a...

Re: isolator questions

Kinda hard to tell much from pics. Everything looks the same as zachs except for the passenger side brackets and pulley. Could have had a different AIR pump or AC compressor depending on what part of country it came from and required emissions. My guess is the third pulley at the crank was for AIR a...

Re: Let's see your stash

I would consider one of those large tow-behind generators to power it myself. I am sure you could modify it somehow to take 2 or 3 phase power to it and really open it up to see what it can do. Crap now we just need alot of speakers.... idunno man that thing makes the large size of the elites look ...

Re: isolator questions

As far as the serpentine belt setup goes.If you have the means,I would suggest at some point to go that route.Like cubic inches, theres no substitute for more,in this case surface area.An olds 307 setup maybe tough to source. I will strongly suggest to use only NAPA brand belts, too. They are the only...

Re: A video about copper claw aluminum power wire

CCA is no worse than copper... As long as its sized right. I'd love to see quality 6,4,2,0 gauge options in CCA, never hurts to have more options and as long as you size it right, handle more current per pound and per dollar. Hard to go wrong there if you use it right. Also on my list of stuff I'd ...
