Thanks for links on your friends T4, roof install is very nice, outside is a bit marmite though! I was hoping to find some nice PG gear (franks, ms1000 etc as never had a...

Re: Custom VW system ideas please
Quick update, the bumpers I built were sold after I was made an offer I couldnt refuse so I set about building a new set using parts of an Audi A4 and came out like this http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc348/fionadolls/Monty/44.jpg Then made some skirts out of four Honda Accord ones I found in a ...

Re: Dumb question of the day
Drove down the beach the other night and run the system at high volumes for 20 minutes and couldnt detect any heat coming the crossovers, will do a bit more testing before I decide to move them. Also noticed on another thread of that mad Aussie PG car that he hah three passive crossovers packed in b...

Re: Rainbow cmx465 extreme kick mids/tweeter/anyone use them
Just an FYI the wood screws it looks like you are using do damage to speaker frames when they are torqued down. A Pan-head style is better as it has a flat surface which doesn't bend the speaker frame when tightened down. Tell me about it!!! Came back from the window tinters screwed in like that, t...

Yes they were very punchy indeed but still musical, I allowed them to breath in the whole front door which seems to add a bit too, these are what I had... http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc348/fionadolls/Scott/100_1307.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc348/fionadolls/Scott/20bluecoveredsub...

In a kind of bad tv presenter link style, I spotted an Apline F1 head unit on egay this side of the pond, I no gambler but I bet that is one nice unit. Shame I cannot afford a sneaky little bid

Re: Dumb question of the day
Bugger  I looked for a good mount under the dash either side and couldnt find one, well glad I asked anyhow, and thanks for the answers. I do listen at max for prolonged periods sometimes, especially when we do a three hour late night blast down to the Cornish coast for a surf (system in a VW v...

Dumb question of the day
Dumb question of the day, do passive crossovers generate any heat? Spent last weekend stripping out the trim and routing cables, ran a single speaker line to the dash and found a nice area behind the side kickwells to place the passive crossovers, (already a clifford box there on the drivers side) s...

Re: RDDP to RMD adapter
Looks good that, hope you get the permanent power issue sorted, I thought though you plugged an rddp in the post then the rmd plugged into that? or are they impossible to get nowadays? I want to display the voltage from my zx amps so this is very interesting.

Just an update, sent a ZX350v2 in to the amp doctor for a recap and service, came back very well done, with old and new specs and even bias set. The man is good and reasonable pricePhuckinGood wrote:Send to the amp doctor, he will be getting my ZX soon too

Re: ZX >--< ZXv2
Yes, mine is too, as are my 450 & 500, which is why I'm having such a hard time finding another 350 to match! My v1 isn't that bad, probably an 8/10, but not solid 10's like my v2's http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn385/Duluxdude/Car%20Audio/ZX%20Amps/P1000596Large.jpg Oooooh very nice colle...

Re: ZX >--< ZXv2
Gordon may be getting my ZX amps soon too 8) I held out and held out for a ZX350 v2 to match my trio of V2 amps (350, 450, 500), but ended up settling for a v1 as I couldn't find one. I've no idea if there is any real difference between the two versions, but I'm a bit pedantic about things matching...
