MS-2125 vs the MS-2250
So, there was a recent dyno amp test and well, I am disappointed with the Ms-2125 tests (especially at 2 ohms mono), while the MS-2250 is insane (especially at 2 ohms mono)! I competed way back in 97 and I had (4) MS-2125 and I did well, (thinking my amps were making power at 2 ohms mono, nope) but,...

Re: Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
I understand everyone's comments. To explain, you know those black, thin, cheap RCA cables that come with electronics. Well, install them on your sound system. Now listen to a detailed song over and over so that you know the sound really well. Now, put an expensive set of RCA's on. Now listen to tha...

Re: Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
It's a shame knowledgeable people make negative and opinionated comments about a topic/subject they know nothing of... Has anyone ever heard these non op-amp components side by side with even a Burr Brown op-amp replacement? No. So why speak on a subject they know nothing of??? I specifically said t...

Re: Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
hahaha, I knew I would cause a discussion on this topic. It is difficult to explain sound if no one has heard the difference between a cheap amp and an expensive amp. How can I explain 'the leading edge of music'? How can I explain depth and sound stage? Coloration? One has to have heard it first, t...

Re: Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
Hey Eric, why not copy and paste your comments to an email to Burson Audio. I would love to see their response... It's a shame how there is such a strong opinion here, based on no actual listening experience... An Op-amp cannot 'create' sound. It can only 'reproduce' it. If it cannot reproduce it pr...

Re: Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
Chip opamps are good for what they are designed for. They are cheap and they amplify sound in a very small package. For the purest, one wants to hear the sound as to how it was truly recorded. Regular chip opamps are not able to reproduce accurate sound. These new transistor replacement opamps are a...

Re: Here's how to mke PG amps sound better.
Without any experience in replacing op amps, a few comments come to mind. First of all, op-amps are not digital. They are analog devices packed into a small space. I am also under the impression op-amps limit sound quality somewhat. But the biggest limitation in sound quality are most recordings th...

Re: Here's how to mke PG amps sound better.
Yes, I did a A-B test side by side. Both on my M50's and my MS 275's. There is a large difference. I wanted to do my ZPA crossover but, there are a lot of opamps in there... I also have modified my house CD player. Even more of a difference. But no sense doing an amp used for playing subwoofers. You...

Here's how to make PG amps sound better.
I have spent thousands of dollars on high end film capacitors and such improvements and this is what I found out. If you are all about SQ, this will make you smile in amazement. Many have older PG amps like the MS series and M series. Both amps use opamps. Some have even bought Burr Brown replacemen...

Re: Looking for M25 schematic and close up picture of circui
I did correct those two resistors. This is crazy. I looked at your photo and noticed that a number of resistors have orange in them. The ones I installed have none... I was confused. So I checked the resistors I bought... And look what is wrong. All the 10k I bought were actually 1k, so I have a bun...

Hi Tricky, thanks for the picture. If it is possible, could you get a picture of the left OP amp area. I cannot make out the resistor colors. (shown by my picture)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Looking for M25 schematic and close up picture of circui
Just to restate my original comment. I have a burnt out M50 that has all the parts to be put on to the M25. I have spent a lot of money getting the M25 and I can't spend any more... So I am hoping someone has a M25 and can take a beautiful, clear, up close picture of the pre amp section. Located whe...

Great that helps me with the power supply part. Are there any photos out there for the preamp part of this ( front left corner under the speaker terminal)? And yes, this came out of a route 66. I am just using this for a center channel amp. Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Looking for M25 schematic and close up picture of circuit
Hi, I am looking for the schematic of the M25 amp and a very good picture of the circuit board, concentrating in the area of the speaker terminals. I got an amp that has a lot of parts missing and I am wanting to transfer parts from a blown M50 to the M25.
Thanks you so much!

Re: running 4 batteries and a POWERGRID???
My explanation was because of the system that he has. He has a lot of current draw and he does not have a HO alternator. Once he exceeds the current output of his alternator, the vehicle's voltage will drop to battery voltage. If anyone has ever put a moderate stereo on a fully charged battery, one ...

Re: running 4 batteries and a POWERGRID???
Wow, didn't realize people did not know the reason for running extra batteries... Like I said before, once a stereo pulls more than the output of an alternator and the vehicle's electrical system, the stereo strictly works off of the battery reserve. If one cannot buy a HO alternator, batteries are ...

Re: Audison thesis or PG elite?
Plain and simple, look at the circuit board on each amp and look for Op-amps. If they have them and it is going through the signal, the sound will be degraded. ZPA amps do not use Op-amps, so, you will have the purist of sound. If Elite amps use Op-amps then, ZPA will sound better. Where the sound g...
