Q about in-wall speaker wire

What is different about in-wall speaker wire that increases the cost ? I'm going to wire up the gym and will be using 2 sets of bookshelf speakers, 6.5 inch mids. Realistically do you see any reason I should run anythign larger than 16 gauge ? I'll be using an older Yamaha stereo amp using both the ...

So I bought the Denon AVR-889

The boxing day sale price was great plus I sold my Yamaha to help pay the difference. I've only had it hooked up for a week and so far so good. Now I have 4 HDMI inputs and one output for the TV so there's way less wires back there and the install looks cleaner. There's quite a few great features. T...

Which would you buy Denon AVR-889 or Yamaha HTR-6190B ?

I'm taking advantage of the boxing day sales to upgrade my HT receiver. The sales in Canada are pretty good, the Denon (sold out online before i got there) is $499 , retail $799 while the Yamaha is on sale for $699 , retail price originally $1299. I bought the Yamaha online already as I don't want t...

Well lets start with what I have. I use my system primarily to watch movies which is where Klipsch speakers tend to shine. If anything I don't need more power, my current Yamaha has plenty of oomph. So now what do you recommend to match ? TV: Panasonic TH-50PX75U 720p/1080i DVD: Oppo DV 980-H HDMI v...

Now isn't the XX09 just the fancier looking version with the same internals as the other Denon's , much like Yamaha does ? With Integra models do you like ?

Yammy's have served me well over the years. Solid performance for a decent price.

Help me pick out a new(er) Home Theatre Receiver

This is what I have now: Yamaha HTR-5760 http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=200024&CTID=5000400 http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/Images/YEC/AV_Receivers/Views/BP_HTR-5760.jpg and I'm more than happy with it. The sound is great and there's plenty of power. However, its lac...

those of us who live in a climate with variation understand it as being precipitation - like rain - but without being wet. Strange, I know, but it's a wonderful world. For some of us, the difference between summer and winter isn't between 70F and 100F, but between 0F and 80F. Consider it "dyna...

Here's a dumb question but..... those x264 videos I see on torrent sites.... do I need a Blue ray player to watch those or will a generic DVD player work ? I have an Oppo 981 ( I think that's the model), it plays nearly any format you find online.

Why not keep it simple and use the 500.2 as front stage ? I ran a pair of XS2500's (basically same amps) front & rear , you won't be dissapointed.

You're not kidding, I took a look on Tirerack and it seems nearly every wheel for a SAAB is made from lead. At least the OZ's are light, if you have $400 per corner to spend. Any reason you have to go 18? Lightweight and large wheels are hard to come by. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp?&a...

Oh yeah... one more infamous gold rim... Rota Torques. Cheap and light. You mean these ? 8) I run them at the track with a set of Kumho V710 R compound tires. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t232/GT_Wagon/Subaru/Wheels/Rota/Torque/126f633d.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t232/GT_Wagon/Sub...
