Need 4 inch speakers for the wife's new rig
So, even though the wife's new rig is AWESOME ( see here ), the stereo is lacking. I replaced the AM radio, but the stock speakers (all two of them) are shall we say.... lacking. She doesn't need anything audiophile grade, but I would like to upgrade them. I understand I can fit 4 inch speakers in p...

Re: Wife's new rig!!
Today the wife and I tackled the job of installing a converter and a stereo into her BJ71. When she received it this week it came with the factory AM radio only. After being used to the modern convenience of bluetooth and satellite radio she was not digging the AM radio. Lol So today we went from th...

Re: Wife's new rig!!
Yeah, but she doesn't want to try it. That's OK, the HJ61 I am looking at purchasing will be in late October/early November!RayBuck wrote:About the no place to sleep doesn't someone make a tent thingy that connects to the back of the truck?

Wife's new rig!!
So, some of you may remember my crazy rant about selling the FJ and buying an older Land Cruiser imported from Japan. Well, turns out I'm not the only crazy one in the family!! The wife and I attended an event called CruiserFest a couple of Saturday's ago and the importer I have been working w...

Re: Glacier National Park
Thanks for the kind words Nico! Over the past few years the wife and I have tried to do a National Park vacation and a different vacation. The problem we are running into lately is that we find ourselves wanting to visit new parks, but at the same time going back to the ones we have already visited ...

Glacier National Park
The wife and I just got back from a 7 day trip to Glacier National Park. The park was AMAZING!! Around every corner was a stunning scene that just begged for a photo to be taken. If you have not been to Glacier I HIGHLY recommend it! Here are a few quick photos from the trip. http://mrtibbs2004.smug...

Tomorrow I will be smoking 16 lbs of pork in the Traeger. Take pics and post them here. Where do you live in Utah? I go there every year for 2 weeks during the winter to go snowboarding. I love it there. Sorry no pics, mainly because I was too busy shredding and eating! Lol I live in south Utah cou...

Re: System into a 24 volt vehicle??
From what I understand pulling from just one battery is a big no no. It unbalances the system and will eat batteries quickly. The more I think about it I'm hoping I can fit a second alt and a third battery in. Then run a dedicated 12 volt fuse box to run all future 12 volt accessories off of. Sent f...

Re: System into a 24 volt vehicle??
I guess I need to decide what amps I want to use and see what the required amps would be. That way I can see if a converter would work or if I need to try and fit a second alt and a third battery under the hood. Or just completely forget the idea of a system if everything gets too expensive.

System into a 24 volt vehicle??
Has anyone put a system into a vehicle that uses a 24 volt system as opposed to a 12 volt system? I will be buying an import Toyota 60's series Landcruiser that uses 24 volts and would like to put a system into it. Nothing too over the top, but something like a HU, front stage with one amp and a sub...

Re: San Rafael Swell
just curious what a "swell" is? Is it just the name of a park or is that a local description/name of a land feature? Where is this at? The San Rafael Swell is a geological area in Utah that many people visit to off road, camp, and hike. Basically a recreational area for fun in eastern Uta...

Thinking about selling the FJ Cruiser
And buying THIS: http://www.landcruisersdirect.com/graphics/index/1986-3519-1.jpg 1986 Toyota HJ61 Landcruiser RHD import from Japan! I was looking at buying a 60s series here in the states and swapping in a diesel motor but the cost of a conversion to a Toyota diesel motor and a 5 speed manual tran...

San Rafael Swell
The wife and I decided to take a quick trip to the Swell this morning. We both needed a get away from work and the house so a trip to the swell sounded like a great idea! It was just what we both needed for a quick get away. The weather was perfect, sun then overcast with a little bit of rain. I can...

Re: Busted out the old RSDc sub the other day!
I was thinking about converting the sub into a HT sub, but now I think I will just keep it in the FJ and redo the box in there to fit the RSDc. With the proper power this is a great sub that will hit the lows and get plenty loud for me!

Busted out the old RSDc sub the other day!
I forgot how much I like this sub. It's still in a sealed box that it has always been in and sounds pretty good! I need to get more power to it though, 2 channels from the Onyx 200.4 is just not enough juice for this beast. Now that I have decided to keep the FJ I think I might have to redo the syst...

Re: Anyone here build their own computer?
So, for xmas the wife decided to get someone at work to build me a gaming PC! After we discovered streaming through Netflix/Hulu Plus/Aereo using the PS3's and the Roku we really didn't need a whole home PC anymore. So this was a pure gaming PC. My question is how did she do? I'm really green at th...
