Re: momstang rebuild begins.
Good thing you took it to a shop to get the gears set up. Never re-use the crush sleeve to crush the new one you have to have a tool to hold the pinion flange or yoke and you also need a good torque wrench I made my own tool I let a buddy of mine use it when I get it back I will post a pic of it. Yo...

Re: momstang rebuild begins.
That's awesome that you have someone to help out with that I have been setting up rear ends and front ends for years it is still challenging just keep everything labelled and take pictures. What differential are you going with locker limited slip spool? 8.8 will hold up to some power you could alway...

Re: momstang rebuild begins.
Dang scott you can't leave anything alone. Do you have the tools to set up the new ring and pinion? Have you ever set one up? I would suggest to leave the rear end out while you do that will be way easier that way lots of in and out with carrier getting pinon depth right. Anywho if you need an...

Re: would this hurt?
Doesn't look bad there. I thought you were just going to put two sided tape or some zip ties maybe some dry wall screws to hold it on there.

I don't think it would be a good idea to mount it there. Is the breaker for the alternator?

Re: Old school car audio - RIP
My thoughts on old school gear: In a nutshell, most of it sucked. Those of us who grew up in the 80's/90's have rose colored glasses I believe. Let's see: Amps were over a $1.00 a watt for quality amps. Proprietary connectors (or no connectors and just raw power wires to connect to). HUGE footprint...

Re: PPI amp repair
I'd add that amp as wall art to be honest. I used to be a big PPI fan (had Art series, then later the PowerClass series). Neither amp was really reliable nor easy to install (odd shapes/stupid molex plugs/etc). I will say the "fascination" if you will, was back in the day they were extrem...

You could make a test box that you can move around and see if it louder in one place or the other.
