Re: Frequency response "curve". This is what I was talking

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/haakono/colt/CIMG1422.jpg Frequency response from the system in my old Mitsubishi Colt. Focal TLR tweeters from 2khz up, Hertz 5" mids from 2khz to 80hz and dual DD1508s in a large low-tuned ported box. The curve would suggest that the low-end was overpowe...

Re: Honeymoon Plans

I went (along with a friend) to Turkey for a couple of weeks a few years back, we had a really good time there! We stayed in Marmaris (in the Asia part of Turkey, the country is partly in Europe, partly in Asia.). You can also get to Rhodes(greece) by a short boat trip from Marmaris. We traveled in ...

Re: Ti distro block resto, tried something different!

Sure is! This also applies to the price tag: Roland LEC-540: $67,995 US

But the possibilities are almost endless:

But now we really are drifting away from the easiest solution to print on the vinyl this thread is about :D

Re: Ti distro block resto, tried something different!

All vinyls made for printing by a aqueous pigment ink (what is in a regular printer) have to be coated especially for that purpose, or else the ink won't dry, just smear. Solvent-based ink will print on this, but a solvent/eco-solvent printer with heaters to evaporate the solvent/dry the ink will mo...

Re: Ti distro block resto, tried something different!

Looking good Mark! :)

And with the other vinyl I showed you earlier, it would be able to make these so they match Outlaw and Bandit amps

Re: Let's see your stash

They only made them in 1999, I've never seen them advertised or any copies of sales brochures/literature. I've seen one tested in a Uk car audio magazine, it retailed for £2400 then, about $3600US. I read somewhere that they only made about 150 or so of them, mine is serial number 102. But I don't k...

Re: Marko

Bought an Outlaw from Marko, it arrived here on my door in Norway within 3 days of being shipped from UK, in great shape, just as described in the ad. Not the first time I've bought amps from him, and probably not the last either ;) Great communication throughout, quick to reply, one of those seller...

Re: First owned PG product?

My first PG item was actually this Cyclone :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/haakono/IMG_7464.jpg Bought it brand new at the local dealer in 99, it was one of only 5 they imported to norway (or so I was told). Paid about $900 for it. Sold it a couple of years ago when I was in a rough spot wi...

Re: MEMORY LANE -- Where did you start?

I found some old pictures in an album here the other day, and although my first system is not pictured here, my first car is, and I had about 10 headunits, 6-8 sets of different speakers, at least 20 different amps and 10-15 different subs in it over the 3 years I had it :D First "system" ...

I thought I had heard that even adding a small amount of paint to the cone can cause it to change how it vibrates/sounds? Indeed, theoretically every change in parametesr on a driver can affect how it sounds, both adding or subtracting weight to the moving mass (mms) of the driver can affect its be...

To be honest, I haven't really tested or measured it more than hooking it up to power indoors (used my Kinetik HC1800 as a power source). Was planning to use this as the only amp in my car, but then I got a sweet deal on some BNIB Tru Copper tube amps and some other fun amps. I just hooked it up to ...

Did some subtle customization on my subwoofers

I have 4 Focal 27WX subs, got them all used in two pairs from different sellers. The first two were in excellent shape, could really not tell that they had ever been mounted apart from seeing pics of it in the sales ad. Not even a fingerprint on the chrome when I unpacked them. The other two however...

It makes a high pitched buzz when powered up cold, very faint, but still there. Like listening to a 10khz sinus tone. Fades out after some minutes, but still.. Would like it to be in mint condition, even if I probably never will use it in my own car :p

If you ever need to get one of these fixed, or have any questions about them, I found the very best source possible, turns out the man who actually designed them now fixes them as a part-time after his retirement :) Found this here: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/industry-shop-talk/81211-sounds...
