The Elites are definitely better in the appearance department. Can't comment on the sound of them though.

Re: Old school build
That looks nice and clean. You used techniques that were not used when that amp originally came out. If you went back in time to show that to any installer from back in the day they'd think it was done by an alien. Lol How old school are you talking? The shop I worked at used methods like that back...

Re: CD Changers
I agree. A 64gb thumb drive with lossless encoding is far more convenient than a CD changer (unless there are literally only 6-12 albums you listen to). Lossless = CD quality, around 300mb per album... so with a 64gb drive (the size of the tip of your pinky), you can store over 200 albums.

Measure it first. Odds are you probably shouldn't mess with those pots, unless you bumped them by accident.

Re: Ti1000.2 VS Ti1200.1
The 1200.1 will stay cooler and have much more headroom at 2 ohms than a bridged 1000.2. Internally they are similar amps... the 1200.1 is still a stereo amp (bridged internally), although it is geared for more current at lower rail voltages than the 1000.2. For a 2 ohm mono load, I would pick a 120...

Re: Subwoofer plate amplifiers
Bash 500w has always been tough to beat, for the money. There are some crossover modifications you can do to it as well, to disable the built in LPF.

Re: Help with gain setting on RSDC
This is why I set my gains with the LPL turned down, and then turn it up for music. You are probably used to overly high gains, which would clip if you played test tones at full volume, but sounds great on music at 75% volume. I'm sure if you played a test tone at full volume with the gains as they ...

Re: Crossover questions
Sounding like there is a gap could also be phase/time alignment. Try swapping the leads on your sub to see if you hear an improvement.

Very disappointed in such a longstanding member. I think his family was relatively well off, too. Strange behavior.
He hasn't been on the forum since October 2012. Does anyone know his name/location from previous transactions? Maybe we can find him on facebook?
