Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000

Ok, thats what i thought, mine are not OEM. I will have to get different ones.
I just had a closer look and im pretty sure my logo is screened. There is an edge when you feel it, but i picked at a corner a bit and couldnt get it to lift.

Thanks

Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000

Question for you John, On your MS1000, what are the screws that hold the plexi down? Are they pan head, button or? Its hard to tell in these pics. I know the plexi is countersunk a small amount so that tells me the screws should be a flat head style. The ones in mine are button head and just want to...

Re: M-50 serial # m50001

Thats a good question. There are 2 schools of thought on that. Some people prefer a collector amp (or whatever) to be untouched and never opened. This might be the scenario where it is worth the most. The other half say the caps should be changed if for nothing else than to protect it from damage of...

Great work Scott. I too have fallen into the "snowball effect" of body mods. You think you will just do a little something here. Then something else looks out of place. Then another. Then you figure, "I've done this much, why not one more"? Its a vicious circle, lol.

Re: Old School PG Amps Install

That is a lot of nice gear you have. It should amazing when finished.
One thing i noticed was you have changed the rail caps in all amps but one? Also some of the internal wiring is different colors. Some people might not notice but it stands out to me.
Great job man.

Re: M-50 serial # m50001

Personally, i would not power it. Its gone 20+ years without and stayed prestine. Why change that? There are plenty of M50's out there to use if you need one to run. Keep in mind, I am a collector. Like Vwdude said, once its powered one time, the collector value drops. That is the premium YOU paid w...

Oh ok. We just call it solar. I had never heard the technical term before. Solar is catching on here in Canada. Its still very expensive technology though. Wind power (turbine) is also catching on, although governments seem to be discouraging it in the private sector. I assume because with surplus e...

Lots of people replacing their oil heating sytem and upgrade to photovoltaic sytems and kick out their 5 to 10 year old oil systems for a fraction of the new price. Brenner.jpg Boiler.jpg I have to ask; what is a photovoltaic system? Most houses over here use natural gas as a fuel for our furnace's...

I have seen the glue/silicone on caps before but only to each other, not down onto the board itself. I think it is meant to stave off vibration. (like when mounted to a sub box)

But he is running line level to RCA most likely off of a rear speaker. Thats why he cannot put it closer to the H/U. Some new cars make it a real pain to use an aftermarket H/U. Im not sure it would even help in this situation?

I believe its actually an 8 channel. I have seen something like this before but it was a Japan or China only release? Very cool all-in-one system amp.
