Re: SMOKEN

This pic comes from a repair EricD made once. I kept it to warn others with MS amps that still have the original caps in it.
We don't barbeque much here, so I contributed what I had around "SMOKEN" .

Thanks Mr. Tibbs , you just provided me with some awesome screensavers.... 8) Hope to visit the States one day again, maybe when the boys are a bit older; especially the eldest [ 11 years old now] is crazy about nature. Only time I visited the U.S was about 14 years ago, with my boss. We visited som...

Re: HORNS!

There's always something that can be tried out... A couple of weeks ago I thought; what if I put one of my Bryston 4B amps on the low section of my speakers. :hmm: Bryston 4B puts out 2x 250W rms at 8Ohms, the Denon only 100W. Just for fun I dragged the thing in the livingroom and hooked it up. To e...

Re: Servicing a Cyclone

The problem IS that the core is falling apart. Normally there will only be small particles coming loose from the core; if larger parts are coming loose I'm afraid it's "end of story".

Nice pics.... Good luck reading the manual which often is as thick as a novel... and fiddling with all the buttons and dials [which often have two or more functions... ].
Like to see your progress and more of your surroundings out there :thumleft:

Thanks for sharing the info, I am currently looking at that site though I don't think my wife will approve another project for some time as half of the work on this last build has been done in the livingroom.... When considering a new build I can recommend you to look at a big two-way system....

Re: HORNS!

After listening for a few weeks I suddenly had the oppertunity to buy a set of ElectroVoice horns that would fit my massive 2-inch Beyma drivers. These monster-drivers are almost 8Kg each and house a titanium dome inside the massive magnet-structure. I removed the flanges from the EV940 horns so the...

Hi Tom, haha... Wil says "de man heeft een hobby... Actually I used the original cabs, sawed all parts off that had no function soundwise and covered the rest with 9mm birch, making all walls more than a inch thick. Also I wanted a composite-style cabinet to avoid resonances; the glue for...

Re: HORNS!

Update...... About 5 months ago I bought a monstrous pair of horns, model University Classic S-9 , used in a theatre here in The Netherlands. I had no way to transport them, no need for them, no room to put them in, a perfectly tuned set of Klipsch La Scala's at home and a wife who I promissed "...

Bryan offered me his used 2XS crossover for shipping only. 8)
Besides making this offer he kept me informed about shipping, I respect that in a person when time is too tight to ship something right away.
A nice experience, good to have people around like you man.
Any time again!
