thanks for the help with the pics. I am happy with how it came out as well. It is a little busy under the cover with the remote and the wires but I am still confident that it will hold up for a long time. I took it out last night for a little while to test the temp monitoring. I jammed on it for abo...

working back towards the octane

I have been working my way back towards the amp(LE octane) to make sure that I have all the wires in place before I start on the rear cover. I powered up the sub section of the amp last week and was delited that the sub playes as well as it does in such a small space. I was so excited to find the RM...

I too could help you get these to some dealers that would use something like this if it comes out as well as you would expect. I have an back-door to the inside of the industry.

I first heard them over 10 yrs ago when I was working at the shop that sold PG. We had ID at the time and of course didn't t...

interesting...... I did a number of Ti amps back in the day and never had it before so I would wonder if it would be the caps as well.

It has only been on for 25 mins in the last 7 yrs so it might take a little while to warm up and break in.

I think all the turn on delay is, is a cap and a resistor. A pot would make it adjustable.

I have been installing for a while and never heard an amp do this before. It is the first time it has been powered up in 7 yrs and seemed to go away after it warmed up so maybe it will go away after breaking in. It was strange the way it would change when I lightly pushed on the cover. Now I need to...

those margines were back when it was good, just before the internet tore it apart. I was working at a shop back in indiana that carried PG back then and it was the first time I had my hands on some real equipment after starting off at best lie.

ITS ALIVE!

well half alive but after 7 yrs in my closet my octane was powered up this afternoon. I only had the sub hooked up(diamond audio D6 10D4) for a 2 ohm mono load as I wanted to test out the box I built. I integrated an enclosure into the center consol and was concerned that with a little less then 1/2...

I had an answer half typed out as to why I didn't think it would matter to have a fuse on a cap until it dawned on me. If the wire were to short out between the fuse and the cap(firewall for example), it would pop the fuse under the hood but it would also then leave the cap shorted out to do what ev...

I understand that a crossover is ultimately dependent on the driver to determine the circuit's characteristics. What I am uncertain of is if the midrange actually plays a role in the tweeter circuit or vice versa. I suppose I always just assumed it didn't but now you've got me wondering. It has bee...

I too have had people try to start a fire with it by mixing it extra hot and while it smoked like heck it didn't even melt the plastic. Last summer while glassing a project it did start to smoke on me a little. I just threw a fan on it and kept an eye on it but it was fine. It is hard to keep it fro...

I think I would start on the inside to be honest. Put a complete layer inside and then work your way out. Also make sure to mask off any areas that you do not want the glass on as it is easier to peel the tape off then to sand it off. I normally just get the cheapest brushes I can and throw them awa...

I really think you will have problems trying to seal that crack with a solid piece of matt and no air bubbles from the outside. You can tear the matt up or chop it up and just try to put as much resin and material in the crach as you can.If you suspect that it might be a little thin then why not jus...

it shouldn't be too hard to repair if you need to. Put some tape on the inside of it alont the crack to hold the resin in place and pour it and some resin and chop-matt. As they said keep the bubbles out of it and with some sanding and paint you should be able to fix it. I would do that after lookin...

looking at the pic it doesn't look like it is cracked completely, just a large scratch in the primer? If that is the case and you just want to smooth it out, just get some bondo and fill in the scratch.
