Re: New Phoenix Gold Product Suggestions (Here We Dream)
I would like to see some 18"s with some 4" coils. A sub built to partner up with "The One" . In the spirit of re-using all the old brands, call them "Team Gold" and have them come in 12's, 15's and 18's, and take 4,000 watts rms, with an 80 mm peak to peak. That would ...

Impossible to properly enjoy that song without a proper subwoofer though. Some fantastic lows in that track.joerg wrote:If non vocal i would choose Lindsay Stirling with Crystallize

Re: what music would you pick?
For something like that, something without lyrics would be best. Some kind of dubstep track would be good if you want EDM, or an instrumental by someone like Buckethead would work if you want something with real instruments.

Re: New Phoenix Gold Product Suggestions (Here We Dream)
I would like to see some 18"s with some 4" coils. A sub built to partner up with "The One" . So you want Phoenix Gold to make DD Z's? Why not? I was actually thinking the other day that I would like a pair of DD Z 12's so I could put an Elite.1 on each one of them. A pair of 12'...

WOW . I run one off one 300 amp iraggi alt , 4 kinetic bats and i could kill my dd z 18" if i wanted to .. Had mine a long time never one issue. There was something wrong with his amp. I've just run mine on my bench so far with four elite12's. I'm scared to turn it up, worried I'll toast my su...

I wish I still had the laptop, cell phone, tablet, ipod, and VHS tapes that I had back in 1996! They were epic.groundpounder wrote:But I do know modern technology usually equils cheaper parts and a bigger price tag?

Wire is wire pretty much. The best deal is the best way to go. Just don't skimp and get smaller wire than you need.

Yes, you'll need an isolator. Not a huge deal though.

Re: Bass Expanders & Processors.......
Wouldn't something like an EQ232 be better suited for that role? All a bass cube is, is a one band parametric eq with a variable frequency adjustment. If you had that eq you could adjust everything.

It doesn't matter. Just put it straight off the HU and it's fine. Before or after the crossover doesn't matter a whole lot.

Re: CES 2014 News
Something I just noticed. Zoom in on the picture with the amp wall and look on the table behind the rep in the white shirt. WTF is that driver on the table in front of the drink bottle? Is that the new 8"? Too small to be an Elite and the magnet is too big frankly to be anything else.

Re: YELLOW PG ZX250 V2
It isn't so much the color of the amp as what color everything else in your car that is going to be around it is, making it match, and not have it look like a yellow submarine. It takes effort to make yellow match since nothing in vehicle interiors are yellow, generally speaking. But if you had the ...

Re: Proper Power
I have this one battery and a 300 amp alternator dedicated to an Elite.1 at 1 ohm and an Elite.4 at 4/2 ohm split load. My voltage pretty much stays rock solid at 14.6-14.8 except for the very odd drop down to 14.4v. That is true at idle as well, and jamming wide open. I probably have overkill on mi...

Re: YELLOW PG ZX250 V2
So in Canada there are a lot of the yellow ones? It's so that they can find the amp if for some reason it got dropped in the snow. Have you ever tried finding a silver amp you dropped in the snow? Talk about a needle in a haystack...... That's the only reason behind it that I can figure anyway. Tha...

Re: Pg The one 12k
If you don't have at least a couple batteries and a dedicated 300 amp plus alternator feeding it you're going to have problems. Personally, I would want a pair of 300 amp alternators on it at least, and about 4 good size batteries. Plus, I have been reading reviews on the Soundstream Tarantula 10000...

Well, they had a demo car there too, but they really weren't announcing anything groundbreaking, so no need to really have a bunch of hoopla.

I looked extensively at the new gear and really wasn't keen on what I saw, so I ended up going on ebay and found a lightly used PG Bass Cube with remote for about $160 shipped. The strongest looking unit out of the new stuff to me was the PPI, but the Bass Cube seemed more robust. If you open up the...

It's expensive, but you only live once, and when you're with your friends you can point at it and say "That's an Elite.5" and expect to see awe on their faces if they know anything about car audio, or "Seriously dude, all this power is from one amp", then watch them get all jealo...

Here are a couple pics I ripped off of PG's Facebook page of their CES displays. Kind of tells the story of what's getting phased out, and what is current production. Just like the website, RX, SX, Ti, and Elite are the lines going forward. R, S, and SD seem to be going away. PG CES.jpg Phoenix Gold...
