You could try one of the following....

1. Paint stripper (should'nt harm the chrome).

2. Wet down an old towel with thinners and lay it over the painted surface for 10-15 mins to soften the paint.

3. Oven cleaner (whilst I hav'nt tried this, I've been assured that it works)

Thanks Shaheen.

I was eyeing them off to use active but I think I'll hold out for a set of full body ID CD2 comps.

Yeah, they have the 'roto-mount' which I think most of the USD horns did. I'll have a hunt and see if I can find all of their old model codes. Maybe some of the codes on the compression drivers will enable us to make a guess

WOW, Cant believe you even got the 4381 reemote programmer to go with the pair of 3681's

The 3401's a wonderful analog piece and I'd dearly love to get my hands on that 5959.

Great score all round

Do the 3 before you do add anything else to the system.

Then test and see what happens from there. What gauge power cable are you using vs. the gauge used for the stock earths???

I would bet my left nut that your stock spkrs have a higher sensitivity rating than the RSD's hence your less than stellar results.

Put an amp on em.

Yes, that would work fine although the 2 ohm mono side of the M44 would be having a hard time of it (but would do it). If you are going to be listening at normal volume levels then this setup should be OK, but if you like to crank it, then you may find the sub wanting more power. Whats the sensitivi...

NICE old school woofers.

I've got an Exact 10, a NIB Exact 12 and a pair of Exact 8's which were the series after these. One of the nicest series of SQ woofers ever IMO.

Masking tape will be fine. Multiple layers of tape is better than one as resin can seep between the seams of a single layer.

Give it a liberal coating of PAM or a coating of carnuba wax to act as a mold release before you lay any resin or mat down.

How about putting a film of window tint on a clear plexi and then milling the logo?? That way the plexi would look smoked with a clear milled logo which you could illuminate. Only question would be if the machining head would make a mess of the tint film on the edges which it cuts?? Either wa...

+1, I love seeing old cars get a new lease on life. Especially when they are done properly and tastefully.

Nothing worse than when someone tries to rice out an old shitta.

Marko, do you really need an M25 bridged on each tweet??

You could run the whole thing off 1 RT66 and the M100 if you run your tweets in stereo off the M25??

This would also solve some space issues of trying to cram 2 x RT66's into your car.

Nice PC Matt.

Personally I agree with you on the Metallic Gold lettering on the cover since it'll match the sink. It'll look odd if you do pink lettering with the gold sink on there........ Of course you could PC the sink to match and THEN do pink lettering

I sold some rare M shrouds to Ryan since I knew he was on the hunt for em. Trasaction went as planned with no probs. UNTIL...... I realise I fuked up and sent him 2xM100 covers instead of 1xM44 & 1x M100. Ryan sent me back the M100 cover (at no charge to me) and I shipped him an M44 cover so we ...

I agree with Eric, but can also understand what ttocs is saying. Personally, I'd build an enclosure for pretty much every driver on the market since its performance will generally benifit markedly from doing so. BUT, if you had heard the original JL IB subs in a correctly set environment, you would ...
