Re: Project Serious
Normally I could care less, but keeping up with the horns is a challenge. That's why the 100.4 was so "ideal". I'm just not really impressed with the noise floor from the Xenon's. The high efficiency drivers really illuminate it. The Xenon series amplifiers can handle quite high input vol...

Re: SD800.4 question
There was also a technical bulletin issued for that amp that warned of too high of voltage. I believe it was remedied in later versions of that amp, but the earlier ones were at risk.

Re: pg sd1300.5
It depends on what you think is "better". Both have advantages and disadvantages. My SD1300.5 puts out more power than my Roadster 66 (Rsd 500.4 and Rsd 600.1 in single chassis) and it is a fraction of the size and requires less demand from my electrical system.

Re: pg sd1300.5
SD came after Rsd. SD is full range class D, while the Rsd multi-channels are class A/B triple Darlington and the monoblocks are low pass class D.

Here's a quick pic of the tweeters and midranges. The mids are listed as a 4", but are actually closer to a 3.5", which will make finding a home for them much easier.

2015 F-150 Install
I'm nearly finished acquiring the items I need to begin my new install. The vehicle is a 2015 F-150 crew cab, with basic factory stereo consisting of tweeters in the pillars, 6x9's in the front doors and 5-1/4's in the rear doors. I'm still saving up for sound deadening materials, and once I get tho...

Re: I need help with a new installation
I'm in a similar boat as you. I just bought a 2015 F-150 and am planning an install. There are no dash kits for this vehicle yet and I don't like the options on the stock radio. I plan on leaving the stock radio, and installing a Pioneer DEX P99RS where the tray in the center of the dash is, just ab...

Re: Car audio withdrawal's
If I had ZPA amps at my disposal, I'd find a way to use them. If space were a concern then I would contemplate newer smaller amps, but in a home install it shouldn't be a concern. Just make sure the caps get changed. The RsdC's are also badass. I'd definitely incorporate them too.

Not afraid to solder... And that's what I put on my Xmas list.. A good adjustable soldering iron :) So you think I'd be a guinea pig.. Hmm.. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk I say nothing ventured, nothing gained. If everyone was afraid to try new things, we wouldn't have to worry about car au...

Re: Need help with a bad Xenon 200.4
Looks like something was possibly spilled there which is why the dust is localized to that area. Try cleaning with alcohol. Good luck on the repair, that is a great amp.

Re: RCA Cables - make or buy?
I used microphone cable and made my own. I even got fancy terminals. I would say yes make your own, but don't go fancy on the terminals. Get some middle of the road terminals that will not come loose or break off, but avoid the high end locking ones. Also consider ones that are shorter and/or maybe...

Re: Increase Sound Quality XS Series Amps
Thanks for the reply Eric. I've only ever owned PG, with the exception of one Pioneer Premier amp my brother gave me, so I can't comment on the sound of other amps. I guess upgrading parts is not a worthwhile investment.

Re: Increase Sound Quality XS Series Amps
I'll be the first to admit that I don't have "golden ears", but when I switched my old XS setup for a Xenon I swore I could hear an improvement. Maybe it was because the Xenon had over twice the power as the XS I replaced, or maybe it was a perceived improvement, I can't be sure. Either wa...

Increase Sound Quality XS Series Amps
I have been contemplating a project to increase sound quality in an XS6600 amplifier. I bought a piece of wall art a few years back which was a PG concept that never made it into production. It's a custom XS6600 size heat sink which came with XS6600 end plates and a blank XS6600 board. I was thinkin...

Yep, this debuted in 2011 specifically for the Camaro. It is an awesome idea that would be great if it integrated with other models/brands. http://www.phoenixphorum.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=17762

Install looks good. I don't think the Rsd's look bad mounted in the doors like that. How do you like your Ti2 amps? I just purchased a Ti2 1000.4 to run a pair of Rsdc 10's but won't get a chance to begin an install until next year.

Re: PG Subs - do they lean toward SQ or SPL?
You know, 200 rms. is plenty for sq installation. The lighter materials are used in sub construction, the faster it is, more sensitive and better for sq. It blends with acoustic in a low volume. This is the big problem of other subs that are not so sensitive. The box has an influence on sub perform...
