Things are kinda slow around here, especially on weekends. Give the regulars some time and they'll respond. All PG is worth saving. :)

Re: Line Output Converter

No problem. I was entertaining the idea myself, but I like my Pioneer P99 too much. I do miss steering wheel controls and Bluetooth though, but not enough to switch back or add them to the P99.

Re: Line Output Converter

Thank you for the links. I skimmed through two of them. Not 100% sure if it will work in mine. Will need to do a little more reading. Mine is the basic head unit without out the amp (non Sony package). I do like the thought of having the clean signal at 4v using the factory h/u. The thread from 2GF...

Re: Line Output Converter

There have been a lot of discussions on DIYmobileaudio and Ford forums about getting a flat signal from the OEM unit. See a few I've checked out: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/general-car-audio-discussion/315746-2014-ford-f-150-w-sony-oem-integration.html http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.ph...

Re: Opinions on DC audio subs?

I didn't figure you'd want them, but figured I'd check. Yes, it was a long time ago we met and I picked up the engraved sign. Now I work at the same place you do. I might throw those woofers on the bay, but I really don't want to ship them.

Re: Opinions on DC audio subs?

Jason, This may seem out of left field, but I have two 15" Electro Voice EVM 15b Series 1 woofers that I'm looking to get rid of cheaply. They're not subwoofers, but they produce an incredible amount of low end ~45hz or so. I have no use for them and I'd hate to see them go to waste. You can fi...

Re: ZX450 strange behavior

Sure enough if I turn the volume up loud, then the gain settles much faster, maybe less than a minute. And then its fine. But if I turn the stereo off and on again, the right gain is louder again. SO it seems like the amp needs to warm up to settle into its normal operating point. I've never had th...

Re: ZX450 strange behavior

Out of curiousity, when this happens turn the volume knob on your headunit up to 60%-70% max for a few seconds then turn it back to your normal listening position and see if it goes away. I have noticed a similar issue with my Roadster 66 amp and doing this seems to fix it temporarily. In colder wea...

Re: Homemade Bookshelf Speakers

so how does one hollow out the log? It was a delicate combination of a circular saw, a chainsaw and wood chisels. Basically I cut slots into the log with the circular saw as far down as it could go and chiseled the slots out. Then I took the chainsaw and went down the rest of the way. High rpm's an...

I know this place doesn't get the traffic it used to, but how many brand specific car audio forums exist? This one has made it 10 years! I remember when I stumbled across the phorum nearly 10 years ago, joined, and felt right at home amongst other PG enthusiasts.

Re: CES 17'

Thanks for sharing! It does feel like the old PG, complete with typo's and errors with their literature. The Ti3 1300.1 has incorrectly listed specs for 2 ohm. I can't believe no one caught that before posting at CES.

Thanks for the link Eric. I saw your post regarding some speakers you put together from that site and it looks like they have very affordable options for DIY kits. I just used what I had laying around for this project, but could definitely see going to that site in the future. It sounds like your wi...

Homemade Bookshelf Speakers

I decided to build some bookshelf size speakers from some drivers I had laying around from my old Explorer install. I wanted to do something different from a standard cube shaped design so I went out and sourced some dead ash wood from my property to use as enclosures. I love the look of natural woo...

Re: SD1300.1 Found one local, thoughts/concerns

My amp didn't come with a birthsheet. I used an o-scope to set my gains, which allowed me to find the max voltage before clipping. I can't remember what voltage it was, but I recall it being more than listed in the manual when I calculated wattage. You should expect to see about 10% more than listed...

Re: SD1300.1 Found one local, thoughts/concerns

I had a hard time selling my 9.5/10 SD1300.5 with box, paperwork, bass remote and receipt for $200. I'd say the 1300.1 in the condition you described above would be about $150. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of love for the SD amps even though they're solid little amps that put out above rated ...

Re: xenon 100.2

I'm running an X200.4 and X100.2 in my truck right now powering my highs, mids and woofers and they sound great. The 200.4 fans are noisey on initial startup when it's colder, but once they slow down they're inaudible.
