Re: zx950 rebuild
^ what eric said. and i guarantee you it can be fixed. Ive worked on a few zx950s including mine that I got in horrible shape. where are you located? If you give the state then we can recommend the closest good tech to avoid crazy shipping fees. also, I run the phoenix gold registry and I have the z...

Re: Elite amplifier plexi
actually the Elites come from Korea, and Im pretty sure the heat sinks are not a PG proprietary design. That being said, with enough searching you might be able to find the supplier and customer order one. You will have to figure out though how to move the terminals that would fall in the center of ...

Re: anyone interested in new MS/MPS/MQ end plates?
I am the one that ttocs is referring to who can get them redone. Doing them in batches makes it cheaper since the powder coated charges a flat rate to do 1 piece of 30 pieces. The silk screened also takes time to set everything up and will be cheaper the more we get done. When I get a count of how m...

Re: Elite amplifier plexi
I have a plexi guy that cuts it with a laser cutter and he recreated the old pg logos, and he can etch them into the plexi.

Re: Ms 275 cap replacement I broke something
I have seen an instance where someone used bad solder and it would t piwer up at all. I recapper again and it worked fine.
Can you put up a picture of the solder used? Or as Ricky said, any caps backwards would cause issues. Also, what caps were used?

Wow, I don't think I've met you. Welcome back. I arrived here about 4 years ago, and at this point, I'm remaking the MS terminals and most plexi pieces for ZPA, MS, and limited edition amps.
So you are the one who made that large ZPA looking amp. Very nice work.

Re: GP MS2250 what is one worth?
That's an amp that I've been seeking for quite a while. I'd say an untested, non-recapped 2250 isn't worth more than $800. $800-900 is what (IMO) is what a fully tested and recapped one goes for.
That being said, I'd value it at maybe $700.

Re: The time is near
yes, the elite.5 should run all of that fine. some of the components on the elite amps are really nice, but some some are garbage. My main issue lies with the power supply. The input filter caps and rail caps are cheap Chinese brand (capxcon) and the mosfets are also some Chinese off brand. I have b...

Re: The time is near
nice gear. if you dont want to sacrifice on amp quality then id consider the elite series amps. all of them are the same size, so they have a 1, 2, 4, and 5 channel version. Personally, I am running active with just front speakers using a pair of ZPA0.3. I have bought an elite.4 that I plan to repla...

Re: MS2250 does this amp have a crossover?
They are also called active crossovers. you can use the one built in to your head unit if yours has it by using the subwoofer RCA outputs from it. If not available you can really use any that are on the market but some examples of ones made by phoenix gold are: MX2, MX3i, AX204, AX406. you can also ...

Re: First Half decent install... need help lol
There are a million options. You can get another m50 for a sub or two, or get an m44 and run active, then run your sub off the m50 you have, or get an m100 for sub duty, or use the m100 for components and m50 for subs (sounds backwards but you can never give components too much clean power). Do you ...

If you remove the bottom cover you can see the board. Post that pic up to be sure.

Re: Does anyone have a parts list and location for MS 2250?
I believe from my observations, the MS 2125 can be made into a MAC 500 quite easily. Same size toroid iron core too. Just a few more windings than the MS 2125 and MPS 2500. I wish I had a picture of a MS 2250 to do a side by side comparison with my MAC 500. As for the added circuit mentioned above,...
ZPA 0.3
If you show a pic of the burned resistors and what R number it is I can give you the values. I happen to have a 0.3 right now with all hear sinks off.

Re: Does anyone have a parts list and location for MS 2250?
There's actually part of the circuit missing on the 2125 board. I did a comparison once and many of the parts are the same. The transformers and some resistors are upsized, and beyond that it's just that missing circuit. You can just add the components, on the 2125 that area is completely blank. Not...

What are you running with this amp? Maybe one of the speakers went bad and is shorting.
I'd start where Ricky said first, those caps fail about 99% of the time, and on that 1% they are about to fail.

Message out to all PG employees...
I'm trying not to over analyze it. Are they waiting to get it right before releasing? Did they shit-can it? I don't know. They asked me to remove it for now, so I did it. Was using their logo a way for them to take credit for my work? Maybe, but anyone that reads the front page will know that it's n...

Message out to all PG employees...
It was about 2 months ago that she asked me to remove it from the registry for now. That was when I asked for them to look it over and let me know if there's anything that was an issue with PG or AAMP. The two corrections were: remove the zen9 for now and they wanted their official logo used at the ...

My ti2 2000.1 has heat issues even at 3 ohms. I have a cross flow fan on its way to me, but I wouldn't even attempt .5 ohm stereo, let alone mono.

Trickyricky is a good option. Otherwise you can talk to Stephen Mantz, ZED audio out here in California. He designs the boards, for PG now and he does all kinds of repairs on old school amps.
