I will take a stab at this. It has been a long time since I laid hands on a zx500, but first of all, what amp are you using to drive which speakers. It makes a difference to crossover settings. The ZX500 has the same crossover settings as the audiobahn, they are just labeled different. First off, th...

This ought to be loud...

My Cerwin Vega Strokers just showed up. Thank God for ebay! I found these old school gems for sale for $190 each, shipped. Brand new, in original packaging. I am sure there are newer, louder subs out there, but IMO old school don't get much better than this! Anyhow, most of you have read my introduc...

Bass Cube Remotes

Anyone care to take a picture of the remote, unwrapped? It looks like they have their values marked on them. I can make out the center frequency value in the pic in the other recent thread, looks like 10K, but not the boost volume pot, looks like maybe 10k as well. If one of you wants to do this, I ...

Take a high resolution digital picture of it. Flash off, good ambient lighting, not direct lighting. If it is a small reciept, put the camera in macro mode. Get the best picture that you can, and email it to me at bigblockbuggy (at) sbcglobal (dot) net. If not all the information can be read in the ...

And this one is a link to the more "official" process, with photo sensitive chemicals, the downfall is the PITA it is to set up, but the cool thing is, the screens will last for a long time, and this process gives you much more detail, since it is basically a photograph of the pattern. htt...

Do it yourself. It is pretty easy, especially if you have to go to the trouble of doing the artwork yourself. One or 2 colors, like most of the phoenix gold stuff should be really simple. Here are some links, I have a bunch of amps to refinish, and I am either going to engrave the covers on my CNC i...

Ah damn, eBay sellers suck... I just had to take it apart... One set of bipolar transistors shot, damn near burned through the board. A A06 and A56 pair if memory serves, along with the gate resistor, and a nearby cap that looks like it got some fall out from the transistor shorting. All in all I wi...

taking a tantrum 600.4 apart?

This cannot be that difficult, but I am stuck. Any pointers? I have had my 1200.1 apart, and although it's been some time, I don't recall it being this difficult. I can move the bottom cover .125" either direction, but can't seem to clear the pots and inputs on the one end, or screw terminals o...

Okay, took some amp pics, none of the tantrum 1200.1, it's under the seat in the pick up. The other ZX600ti is still in the mail, so I will add it to the portfolio soon :) http://www.rollmeover.com/bronco_fab/amps/amps001.jpg http://www.rollmeover.com/bronco_fab/amps/amps002.jpg http://www.rollmeove...

If I run individual amps, they will be 2Ω each. If I go with two amps, my choices are 1Ω or 4Ω per amps. I think I may be leaning toward the RSDs. It is good to hear that they are decent amps.

Thanks,
Jason

Help me make some decisions

I am trying to get sub amps together for my new system I am starting. I had originally intended to find a second Tantrum 1200.1 and run that and the one I have, however, another member on here mentioned the tripath debacle to me, and after researching it, I am not so sure I even want to keep the ta1...

Radio shack has a few blinking LEDs, this one, cat. #276-312 does not list what color it is, but it is the brightest blinking one they list. This one, cat. # 276-036 is cheaper, red, but significantly less bright. There is no special resistor needed, unless you intend to run them at a higher voltage...

Modify a TI to stay in HV mode?

This question is mostly out of curiosity, but is there a simple way to modify the zx or ti amps to stay in high voltage mode (aside from the obvious one of only running 4ohm loads with it), instead of switching to high current at low impedance? I know it can be done with the ZPA amps, at least phoen...

The motor is a bone stock 460 out of a '89 F350. The thing has enough low end torque that sinking money into it IMO would be a waste for what I do with it. I would rather have it factory and reliable, then built and not running. Not to mention trying to keep a stock motor this size cool at low speed...
