My Install
This stupid alt noise is really getting to me. I pulled the deck, ran new RCA's, (ran them down one side by them selves) I ran a new remote wire. With everything disconnected from the amps I still get the wining noise. The noise must be getting into the amps some how. If power is connected but no r...

Need (specific) input regarding Cyclone for home use.
I have a new 10w3v2 2ohm waiting for my cyclone to be put to use, hehehe... I just need a plunge router, my router has me turning a screw to change depth... There's an article that says the cyclone loves more airspace. I just may try to make an enclosure, I've got enough amps for it and supporting s...

Need (specific) input regarding Cyclone for home use.
I've read there are quite a few people using it for home use. I haven't tried it yet, but the ported enclosure suggested by the manual should give the best results if space wasn't an issue. I'll try to find a link, but I think it was an audio/visual forum and home theater... --- I am here: http://ta...

Alright, I only saw the sold to me post... Sorry to hear about the deal turning out that way. I have a bunch of M series and am always looking to see other people's builds. I am trying to pick up on enclosure design, your post for box help made me think more about efficiency in the sub/bass departme...
What would you do?????????????
It's like a soap opera, always something... Just checking, I was hoping for an M series powered build or something. I've read great things about the treo subs.

can someone help with a box design?
I've heard a 6" sub in a transmission line box hit harder than a ported 10" w3v2, so I think there is some magic involved somewhere. I would like to know what are the popular modeling software out there for us to use.
What would you do?????????????
Just wondering, your planned setups always seem very interesting. What do you have in the works now? What do you have for sale/trade and what are you looking for? Always interesting to see/hear what gear passes through you, hehehe....

A few quickie random MS2250 questions..
With that paint job on the shrouds, you should get rid of those 2250s. I'll gladly remove them from your sight! It almost seems like they didn't sand the original finish or used crappy paint. You could try mineral spirits or paint thinner, wiping away the silver. If the shrouds are powder coated, th...

Titanium vs RSD
I think the 1200.1 will make you very happy. I love my TI amps, and even the 600.2 on sub duty is plenty loud with 2sealed 10w3s, but the simple fact you are going from a/b to class d will make a difference on load and output. We've used 2 RSD 1200.1s, tantrum 500.4 and 500.2 on a stock Honda Pilot ...

If anything, you may be able to adjust the port somehow. With different sub specs, the port tuning will change...

Looking for gear and ideas.
A friend of mine has a Kenwood basic deck, 4 volts out, iPod ready... If he uses all 3 RCA outs, he gets whine. If he uses the sub out, and either of the front or rear out (not both front and rear), the noise goes away. No RCAs hooked at the amps, dead silent at 3/4 gain. 3 sets of great shielded RC...

Flared round vs Slotted ports
The slot port with more area allows the air to flow in and out slower, hence less port noise. Funny thing, my old Pioneer house speakers, 15" woofers had a 1 1/2" diameter 4" long port facing the rear. It made a lot of noise, but in the house, it was loud and low compared to a sealed ...

600+ watts to an Rsd12?....Really?
Using a 2x4 for bracing, I had to use lag bolts (1/2" hex head) x 3". I also used all thread and washers/nuts to help hold the box together... You may not need to go to that extent, but I would suggest the all thread and washers/nuts to see if you like the sound of the current config. Supp...

600+ watts to an Rsd12?....Really?
I tried a box with 2 15s (Alpine type R). I had the 15s on a single plane, used 3/4 mdf and no internal bracing. Then, I thought the sound wasn't as tight as a single 15. I noticed the face had noticeable flex, so cut the box up, made a bunch of internal bracing and the difference was crazy. If seal...

Do we have a pg amp guts thread on here anywhere?
I think I liked the RSD layout over the tantrums. I also have had a few mishaps with a 500.4 and 500.2 tantrum where the output fets needed to be changed on the 500.2 and one channel on the 500.4 cuts out randomly. Also, a friend with a pair of RSD 1200.1s playing hard for hours and they've never cu...

Bridge Rectifiers Big Ass Diodes Custom Amps DIY Style!
Sorry, one last thing. There was a ti amp modded with a tube preamp section. I have been playing with a headphone tube amp and either I am just tricked by reading all of the great reviews, or the blue light of the tube is hypnotizing me, but it sounds great. I think it is more cerebral than aural, b...

Bridge Rectifiers Big Ass Diodes Custom Amps DIY Style!
A few areas to look at improving, which may be simple, is the bus bar contact at the terminals. I really think a bit more contact would be nice. Like a half moon beneath the bar opposite the set screw. On the 2250 vs the 2125, the input voltage torroid thing is mounted directly to the bus bar instea...

Bridge Rectifiers Big Ass Diodes Custom Amps DIY Style!
I've always wondered if using batteries together with the on board caps would keep the rail voltages solid. I would think the rail voltage would be the first to show signs of letting go when the amp is pushed very hard. Stiffen the rail voltage, maybe the rms and thd may show signs of improvement at...
