Just added a few to my small collection. - PG M25 - PG SA1.5X Going to service both, upgrade the caps and op amps. Pretty much the same thing I did to a member's M25 a week or two ago. Once finish I'll use the 1.5X and the 3.0X, can't wait (will post pics as soon as work begins on the SA1.5X). I rem...
Your corrent Mr.Wild, especially if there is ABOSLUTLY no output, lol. Blad09- can you give use some number regarding how much AC voltage the right channel is putting out vs left channel, you'll have to do this with a sinewave - an make sure your not clipping. Just to get an idea of how low is the l...
I myself get a little worried when I do trades. But I only do them with people that have feedback here and there (especially trading feedback). Why the f*ck would he have "23" as his email address? He looks like he may lure young girls into thinking he might be 23, lol. How the hell did yo...
If in doubt that the caps are leaking or haven't been changed in years then all you can really do is take them off. I didn't see any leakage or damage in my PG SA3.0x but once I removed the big caps there it was.....leakage and damage. So far what I've notice is taht PG need their cap replaced, espe...
If this is the wrong place to put this post then mods please move it to the correct spot. I just figured this was the right spot since it states "Rebirth of the Phoenix" and thats exactly whats going on with this old school beauty, lol. I am in the process of replacing a boat load of compo...
Regarding the amplifier above (pics) it looks like its seen moisture before, enought to rust certain parts/components. The pots may still work properly you just have to de-ox it/clean them. As far as the caps, replace all of them (electrolytic).
I thought about running 12v amps in my home. But the power supply is too noisy (has intake and exhaust fans). So would you guys need to have the power supply in another room/closet and just run the power cables to the amps (sounds like that's the only way to do it). Ofcourse the power supply I have ...
As you can see PG used Panasonic caps (which are good, but just like any other cap...will fail eventually with time and use). Nichicon and Elna are great manufacture for caps, just try to keep it over 105 celcius rating when ever possible. Keep everything the same capacitance value.....you can go a ...
I get sick everytime I open an amplifier just to find cheap components (especially caps). Capxon are notorious for failing, am pretty sure G-Luxon falls in the same catagory. I wouldn't dare mess with any crappy amps - unless the owners is willing to pay for repairs....I would just throw it away or ...
Both colors (white, and blue/purple) are amazing. Aslong as the powder coating is well done than the finish product must be amazing. So far am happy with my Xtant 600X1 amp.
I think I dealt with him before but I dont think I had problems with the transaction, but my memory is not that clear, lol. Heck its scary when you say that your going to chop it up, because that looks like an easy fix (if its broke in the first place, which it MIGHT NOT BE). But hey its your amp, c...
I can do it, am restoring my SA3.0X with all new caps (just the electrolytics caps, the film rarely fail). Not just that am also replacing the output transistors & all 6 signal op amps - previoius owner drove the amplifier into clipping all the time and damaged a few components. As you can see I...
Its a pretty common thing among teens and bass heads. They think the gain pot is really a volume control and "why the hell am I going to set my volume at half way when I can set it full blast and get all more power!!"- atleast thats what they think. I never said "EVERYONE" cannot...
what would be the correct tool? oscilliscope (dont have one)? my ears (have two)?  Wow, I dont want to sound like a jerk or know it all....but a lot of people can't hear clipping so they set their gains where the output signal is clipping. Long term or even short term clipping ca...

Am new to PG products (only used the old school PG, made in USA products) but I've never seen a blue sapphire amp. The pic posted in this thread looks like it was custom painted blue, but if the silk screening on the side panels are original then it might be factory coated. By the way I have a 3.0x ...
There is not way of saying if there are similiar if no one has seen the guts for the Pyramid amp. Am more than sure the Pyramid has cheap components and no where near PG's designs.
Woah thats a big hole in the cap. It looks like someone had a wire with 12v (or higher) and touched that cap (causing a short/spark) and making that big hole. I would replace that cap ASAP. Dont even try to power it up, it might work but not as it should. Someone please correct me if am wrong, but t...
