Re: DLogixs DLM4500 (not PG related)
Now that you've asked I remember recently testing 25pf ceramic capacitors, yes it does read that low.

Re: DLogixs DLM4500 (not PG related)
I haven't tested any capacitor that low but manual states at 10khz it has 40pf range so I wouldn't be surprised if it does read below that. Am pretty happy with it, has nice features such as D (Dissipation factor), Q (Quality factor), θ (Phase angle), and ESR (Equivalent series resistance). I've nev...

I like my BK 879B LCR meter, paid under 200.00 for it a while back brand new. Might be cheaper now or a better model for same price. You can select the fhz 100,120,1k and 10khz and other great features for testing capacitors.

Re: ms2250 rebuild
As for the transistors with the broken pins, you can always use solder wick to tie them back together once you have the devices mounted to the heat sink. Just a small piece of solder wick on top of the broken pins and add solder. On the transformer, you can solder from the top to hold down the wire ...

Re: ms2250 rebuild
No not the fan board inputs. the resistor sticking straight up and the cap hanging off of it. after looking at the two already in the 1000, its a stock modification. Strange looking as it is the cap/resistor are swapped I guess. They did this because the large 35 x 35 mm snap in rail caps was in th...

Re: ms2250 rebuild
The way you have those RAIL caps installed/inserted are WRONG! (From left to right, second and fourth snap in cap)... unless you just did that for the pic but haven't solder it yet . They should all have the negative side going the same direction. Eric has a great tutorial in his site (http://www.so...

Re: ms2250 rebuild
No, you should be able to get 3w in single quantities. I know I order a few from Mouser a month ago for a 2250 I repaired/serviced. They might have been 5watt, I'll double check and let you know.

Re: ms2250 rebuild
C323 is the same as C307 which is a 0.1uf capacitor.
For the resistors go 3 or 5 watt (just look at the datasheets to make sure they are not excessively long). 3.9K 1 or 2 watt for R343 and R344. The other side is 1.5k 3 or 5 watt R345 and R346

Your welcome, remember the caps I included on the 430 I traded you for a ms2240? Those are 18mm x 35mm and fit all MS amps.

Re: mq430 rebuilds
The ones used on the amp are 35mm...so you can replace them with 35mm. I use Panasonic 16v 8200uf that are 18mm diameter and 35mm length available at mouser and digikey. Increasing the capacitance on the primary and secondary is always a good thing, unless you go the cheap route and buy some cheap g...

If one channels doesn't work you have the other three you can use as reference, each channel is pretty much exactly the same...a copy and paste design.

Re: rebuilding an OG ms1000 Nickel
They don't have to be replaced, but I go ahead and replace when I do a cap job I replace all of the electrolytic caps. You may find 18,000 or higher capacitance in that size, just make sure you keep the same voltage rating (25v I believe) if you do plan on replacing them.

Re: rebuilding an OG ms1000 Nickel
SP900S-0.009-00-104 will fit both the outputs and mosfets (you can trim them down a bit if you wish to have a clean flush look). I replace the rail caps on the amps I service, don't have to but after all they are over 20 years old. Am confused with what you are saying regarding the 15,000uf caps...t...

Re: rebuilding an OG ms1000 Nickel
I would replace them, they are only 40 cents each so it's not like it's breaking the bank. But that is totally up to you, if they don't rip/tear/separate then you could reuse them.

Re: DLogixs DLM4500 (not PG related)
I have a Hertz HP4 that I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it...I didn't remove or attempt repair just diagnose but was a PITA because it uses a programmable IC and had zero luck with Hertz trying to get one. Output wave form is pretty messed up but both (negative and positive are there), I d...

Re: XS2500
I sourced my 2389 from hkutsource, but if you need them in a pinch then you can use KSC1845. Am pretty sure I've used them before as I have a bin with KSC1845's in it but of course if I have the 2389's then I'd rather use those.

If the fets and their (100ohm 1/4) resistors failed then more than likely you'll have to replace the PWM ic as well (3525 ic).

You'll need 12 16v 2200uf caps, pitch of transistors screws is 4-40...
Make sure you check the mosfet resistors (they may be open/bad).
