Re: Feeding a Beast
alternators cant keep up with amperage changes like batteries can. i would think that one 370a alternator and 3 or 4 good batteries would be alot better than 2 or 3 alternators and 1 or 2 batteries.

Re: Question about old school kicker s15d sub
its going to have a similar sound to the old 90s comps. it will take more power to get the output compared to a comp 15 with the same power of the same era. check the surround and make sure its not all dried out and hard. but it will get loud and low and have the great sound.

Re: PG XVR-14 ?
a ms275 will be fine with it. i think the front and rear are ran in parallel so they would see the 2 ohm rating for each side. and the sub channel would be the bridged output.

Are they dual 2 or dual 4 ohm coils. Also since those zx are new to you have the caps been changed in them?

MS amps on subwoofer
I used a ms275 on a kicker xpl 12 and I had a ms2125 running the fronts. This sounded better than my ms1000 running the same comps but with an idmax12. It was not nearly as loud but with the 275 but sounded better. The reasons I stop running it was the surround tore on the xpl and I got a good deal ...

Noob needs help designing ported box
Vb is volume in cubic feet. Vd is port id (4" PVC) vi is length of port and fb is the port tuning. Assuming that vb has displacement figured in you just need a 2.7 cuft box with a 4" port 7.25" long.

Being a rare amp makes the customization just a little more special, doesn't it? I think because its potentially a "one amp system" capable setup, it's totally worth customizing because you won't have to rely on finding a similar amp to match it like you would with a custom 4ch or sub amp...
