Re: Food for thought

That's the best sounding heater in the world. Lol

But seriously, I always wondered why they didn't put a wind turbine on the roof of the Chevy Volt. Once it gets going it makes its own wind.

Re: Midrange Install Question

Kind of what I figured when I had that bright idea, but thought I'd ask if anyone had done it. My biggest issue is that I only have about 2.6 cu. total for the sub enclosure and I can't fit two Ti2 tens ported, even in the SPL enclosure without raising the seat. I have one ported now, and while it s...

Re: Midrange Install Question

Just had a thought. How would it sound if I ran a pair of 200 watt rms 8 ohm midbass drivers in parallel for a 4 ohm load from the kick panels off of the Elite.5's sub channel? At 4 ohm the sub channel makes 400 watts. Would it effect the SQ if the midbass drivers weren't in stereo? I can set the am...

Re: Elite 12d box question

Not entirely out of the question is the idea of going SQ sealed. Won't get as loud, but it will be clear, and if you put the full 1600 to it, it'll still be pretty damn loud.

Re: Elite 12d box question

You are forgetting the "normal" enclosure, which is 2.25 ported at 33hz. It will sound really good there if you can fit that. 1.75 will probably sound pretty good too, it just won't get down on the low end like it would in the bigger boxes, but it'd also be loud as hell in the small box. I...

It'll make that 10w6 stand up and talk. It's a beast of an amp.

Re: Poll: Xenon x100.4 or the new ti 600.4

I'm still not convinced that Class D amps are as nice to listen to as a nice Class A/B. I've not been tempted to change 'up' my original titanium 600.2 and 500.4 amps for this reason. I used to feel this exact same way, until I came to the conclusion that my listening studio is traveling 45 MPH+ do...

They look like the Elites tbh, but if you go on PG's website and look at the Ti amplifiers, the new ones are down at the bottom with specs.

There's an Elite 12 and a couple Ti210d2's on there as well.....not a damn thing I can use. :(

Re: Midrange Install Question

Gah! The frustration with space issues continue. (We really need a "facepalm" emote on this forum) I just mocked up the sub enclosure in Sketchup, and I have roughly 0.2 cu per side for midbass drivers, might can find another tenth if I had to, and about 3 inches give or take of total dept...

Re: how is the Phoenix Gold Ti212d2 cause I just got one off

The 10" is pretty badass ported, so I would imagine the 12" is the same with a bigger cone. It does require a fairly large box to run ported compared to comparable sized subs however.

Re: Poll: Xenon x100.4 or the new ti 600.4

The new Ti line is completely being re-done to be full Class D, and they don't ship until April, so no one has heard the new Ti amps. If I understand right the Ti600.4 is going to be phased out when the new ones are released. They aren't even listed on the PG website yet. Put the Xenon against the E...

Re: m100 on 4 4 ohm speakers

I have a trigger in my brain that automatically relates using 2 channel amps like the M100 for subwoofer use. lol

If the 4 speakers in question are full range I would most definitely go 2 ohm stereo. If they're subs I would go 4 ohm bridged.

This. Do two pair in series, and then parallel one pair to the other pair, and that will put it at 4 ohm. I'd be hesitant to drop an M100 to 2 ohm bridged.

Re: Midrange Install Question

Yeah, I already figured the kicks had to be made be pretty rugged with a solid grill. Most of the time if someone is in the passenger seat they are a co-worker or family, so it is an ass I really shouldn't be kicking lol.

Thanks for the advice!

Re: Midrange Install Question

So, in theory, would you say that 6.5's in the kicks, front doors, and rear doors, with 8" midbass drivers under the rear seat firing forward is a solid plan, or should I look at doing something else? 90% of the time when more than just me is in the vehicle the system won't be up anyway, so I'm...

Re: Midrange Install Question

I have two center consoles, one in the middle of the front seat, and an upper one that functions as an arm rest. Why Chevy put two consoles there is beyond me, but they're there. There is also a good amount of space under the dash over the transmission hump. Either the space under the dash or the lo...

Re: Midrange Install Question

They do make a couple pointsource options in the Ti line, 6.5, 6x9, and 5x7, but don't think those are really options for me. If there was such a thing as a 6x9 woofer, I could try that for midbass because that's basically an 8". The way it looks is I'm just going to end up doubling up on the l...

Midrange Install Question

I have a 2012 Silverado Crew Cab. Right now I have an Elite.5 and have Elite.65's in the front and rear factory door locations. The front tweeter is in the factory A Pillar location. The front door location is pretty far forward in the door, and about half way up my calf when driving, so it's kinda ...

145 is a BIG stock alt, most are not more then 70-80 amps so yous is 2x as big. Like I said trucks tend to have that ability to add a 2nd battery easier then a car. Re: batteries

now that is not true at all you can have too much battery if your alt can't charge it. Think of your battery as nothing more then a water tank, with the water being your volts. If that tank has a bigger hole in it then the alt can fill, it will run that battery dry(slowly) but also creates an addit...

safety Not really directed at the OP so much as people in general, but that word is something that a lot of people don't think about when they plan a car audio system. They'll spend $1000 on an amp or two, and then get the cheapest wire they can find to hook it up with because wire isn't as cool an...
