WHO KNOWS WHAT ??????
Who on this Phorum knows or can do what? By this I mean, who the technicians and installers are, who are the salesman, engineers, etc...It would be cool to know this for a couple of reasons:
(A. If someone is unemployed and/or simply willing to accept "project" type work...installs, repair, upgrades, etc. Potentially lucrative and helpful to others.
(B. Just to answer questions a Phorum member might have. I know that this is addressed in the questions section of the Phorum, but this gives potentially a little more depth.
(C. Make new friends of kindred spirits. Someone of similar interests and background could be right in your backyard, and you not even know it! It's always cool to stumble upon someone who is into what you are into.
I am hesitant to just make this a general post in the Phorum, because folks might not want others to know their business. (*Then
again, if that is the case, simply ignore or don't answer) Sure, there are potential liability issues, but these are easily remedied by a simple waiver which all parties involved can sign. All other peripherals (shipping, insurance, time frames, materials, etc...) could be handled on a case by case base between parties involved.
This is just a suggestion guys. I myself am looking for someone to upgrade and handle some installation work for me. Some things I can't do, and some things I don't have the time for. (*Too bad Stipud, Bogart or Jim Truett ain't local to me. I've seen your work...TOP NOTCH!) Anyone who wants to post and be found, PLEASE DO SO...WE NEED YOU !!!

I can't remember a question that was asked and not replied to........ There's a wealth of knowledge and knowhow around here that grows by the day...........
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

Not a bad idea...see who is and has done what audio related would be interesting. Like a resume...fairly non personal but give people an idea of what you are all about in the audio realm and it would be a good basis in a few years for people to truly see what is happening where in all aspects of the industry...
I vote yes...pics of your work and such...not entire life thing...

Currently I am a java/web software developer and full time pasty white nerd.
In a nutshell, I make the mobile websites for many cellphone companies like Cricket, Rogers, Fido, BASE, Orange, Unicel, etc. Of course the front end is the smallest part of what I do, and I spend much more time working on billing, consumer provisioning, dynamic servlets, etc.

I seem to recall having a thread like this already.. perhaps it was back at the buggy?
anyways, I do cnc machining and programming.. currently employed making helicopter parts, cargo hooks and load measuring equipment, etc.
My dad runs his own machine shop seperate from where I work, so side work is pretty easy for me.. but its gotta be worthwhile...

I'm afraid of widths.
I work full time in a chemical plant making silicon based raw materials that make your life more interesting.
I work part time running my own home business which is oriented toward off road vehicles and metal fabrication. I have a fairly well set up machine and fabrication shop including a 80amp plasma cutter, a 300 amp tig welder, a 300 amp mig welder, a hydraulic tubing bender, a 15x48" lathe, a Medium size manual mill, and a reasonably sized CNC mill.
I dabble at electronics design and repairing my own amps-- actually I dabble at damn near anything that strikes my fancy.
In the somewhat distant past I installed for a local shop, but pretty much just do my own stuff now.
Later,
Jason

I ***WAS*** a welder at a semi trailer manuf. I mostly welded Aluminum, but can do Carbon and Stainless. MIG, TIG, Stick.
I do installs, standard or custom, on the side for extra $$ and for fun.
I spend most of my days now LOOKING FOR A JOB. I should get paid just for that. Isn't that a job in itself sometimes?
I took 3 years of drafting and was an "art major", for a lack of a better word in high school. I can picture a lot of things just in my head and knw how it should look.

Used to be, until a CAL in the mid nineties. I am pretty sure that silicon implants are illegal in the US now, saline only, and we don't make them anymore. I used to have a pair of double d's that my pops brought home when he worked hear years ago.smgreen20 wrote:BOOOOBBBIIEEESSS????!!!!!!!!Jacampb2 wrote:I work full time in a chemical plant making silicon based raw materials that make your life more interesting.
