I like the old stuff better.

Visuals in Transformers 1 was nice, but a big meh on the story, acting and making the movie into one long GM ad.

Since when was GI JOE about a bunch of guys in what amounts to be iron man suits? That's not GI JOE!

Yeah... I'm pretty fed up with Hollywood rehashing my fond childhood memories into lame mass consumption box office hits. They are selling their souls just to make a buck... not that that surprises me.

And as a computer guy, I find all the CG blatantly cheesy, and the heavy use of it in recent films really bugs the hell out of me. It just seems lazy and bogus compared to the old filming techniques, when they actually built models of things. I preferred the special effects in the original Star Wars to the new one.

Though you probably shouldn't listen to me. Movies, and especially TV, on the whole have been dead to me for awhile. There's maybe a single movie a year that I actually like.

Anyways, it's opening day, and reviews seem pretty bad so far: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/transfo ... he_fallen/

Yes you are, now go to your room and think about what you said and when you're ready to be nice, you can come back out.

Damn KnightRider358, are you my twin in another realm? Those are all the shows I watched as a kid growing up. M.A.S.K. was another one. I think a movie based on M.A.S.K. could be kick ass.

Unfortunately for me, I don't have time or $$ to see Transformers until this Saturday. Hope my wife doesn't get mad at me for all the drooling that I'll be doing seeing Megan "is a FOX".

Going to TROTF tomorrow to miss the opening day blitz. I love how critics bash the blockbuster movies that most people actualy go pay to see and the say how great these littlle no name films are like Rachel Getting Married which I love Anne but that movie was super boring and just plain retarded even the wife was like what did the critics see in that movie? To me the movies are suppose to give you a break from reality and take you somewhere you can not go. I can be alittle forgiving about storyline as long as the visuals and sound effects rock. Like Godzilla w/broderick everyone thought that movie was stupid and unrealistic, well a huge lizzard running around in New York isn't real but I liked it and thought it was entertaining which is what it should be! OK rant over!

Good acting in front of a blue/green screen must be more difficult to attain than a situation when you're actually IN the environment being filmed and can see, feel, touch, smell and interact with the environment.

it was kinda hard to tell how it was....i got stuck up in the second row and could never see the whole screen at once.

the story was a bit farer fetched then the last one (i know...talking morphing alien robots...that should be the least of my worries) but the action was good and it was entertaining.

megan fox* is a brilliant actor

(and by megan fox i mean megan fox's ass)

Hey I agree with everyone whether u like it or hate it.

Hate/why-Cause its way to CGI, They are overkilling my childhood memories, they dont keep to the origanal story (ie-2 has Unicron a huge bike or somethin when he's actually a planet in the 1st gen), and I miss soundwave DAMN IT! jus stuff like that or shali's dad has no real role in the movie's and bumble bee's not as a new beetle at least and blowing meagan fox's role up cause she's hot, the girl was only in a few episodes in gen 1. (dont get me wrong shes hot but still @ least play true to the origanl story u know just like the wolverine movie (way the f&^% off comic there) and I could keep going but

Love/wny-JUST BECAUSE I GET GITTY LIKE A KID IN A CANDY SHOP WHEN I WATCH IT, they got all the original voices from gen 1 series except megatron/starscream got micheal bay and stephen speilberg couldnt get anybetter except with goerge lucas (money greedy to good chump) great action also almost as good as cartoon even though its cgi but how else would it be done, just down right brings back great memories and thats what matters to me.

also smgreen I miss M.A.S.K also gtreat short run it had but was freakin awsome. I hate in the sense of GIJOE cause of their suites more gen 2 and 3 there but action and characters do look great except destro having no gold head and where's cobra commander

anyways I just wanted to start a fun talking thread with this one. TTYL guys

I went tonight and saw it with a buddy and had alot of the same complaints. My biggest was that I thought it was too long. They could have cut 30-45 mins out and it would have been the same movie.

Just curious if anyone else saw the goat jump off the roof in the background of one of the scenes in egypt? My buddy and I seemed to be the only one in our theater that noticed it...

I watched it last night and I loved it, you guys are just to fickle. I thought it had a lot of laughs, action and a lil seriousness thrown in. I personaly liked it being longer I feel like it was worth the $10.

I went this past Monday, made a afternoon of it, took an hour drive and watched it at the nearest IMAX theater. This was the first "real" movie I have seen in IMAX, and it blew me away. It was almost to big. It was worth it just for the up close and personal look at Megan :D

Yeah this is why I think these retro shows are best left in the past. I have fond childhood memories, but when revisited as an adult I am always disappointed.
