once you are a registered user of google or more specifically Gmail, you can customize your main page with such things like a calendar, weather, games, babelfish, cellphone text messenger, some pretty nifty things.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
I use Gmail as my primary addy.
I like it because I can access email from anywhere through a browser.
I don't use all the optional add ons, but there are many.
My son turned me on to it years ago. He had to invite me in in those days.
Is it still by invite? I must have 50 because I've never pimped it.
Advise should you require an invite. I'll send you one.

The only stupid question is the one not asked .......
gmail is great you can also configure pop/smtpl to retrieve all your messages on your main computer and keep copies of the mails in your online inbox so as to access it from anywhere
and the inbox is huge, like 2gb
Gmail is the only way to go. I dont typically customize my homepage with much because I hate clutter. I use a ton of google tools such as analytics though.
