I could tell you the power scales between lines....easy enough. I can't tell you a lot of the other info...harmonic distortion....ect ect....and they don't make an amp anything like the traditional cheaters though....so what would you use for comparison?

back in the day when you walked into a PG showroom there was no doubt that they were charging 2x-3x what other people were and were proud of it. The salesman knew the differences in pg amps and the others and it is not like they had to do anything to show it, you could see the difference just looking through the plexi at the amp and you could see an entire system powered off of a single cheater amp.

For the most part as much as we all fancy ourselfs as audiophiles the chance of phisically hearing the differences in the amps that are tuned alike is probably impossible. The big difference to me is that with the old amps you can just swap out some caps and have a killer amp from 20 yrs ago that will last another 20 if you treat it right. We are sure to have a few die-hard xenon or new fans but I think after their amps reach 10 yrs their life is extremely limited.

In no way am I thinking that PG will get back to the MS/M series days. I think I've said that now 3-4 times. And I was never impressed with the Ryval series. I like the RSd amps. I think they might have a chance to regain a place next to the likes of Fosgate and Kicker in the mainstream of things though. Who knows...............

I do hear that there is some cool shit in the works so I guess we'll see.

I wish a small company like arc would buy them and take it back to its roots. They are still successfull in making high-end amps and custom 1-off stuff that we all love. We just need a little bit of the personal service that it use to offer from time to time.

how about saying thanks to stupid, this is the last and only thing left of a company that was one of the best. they raced to zero and they got what they deserved trying to do it.

it happens when you put a bunch of car audio guys in a management/business situation. you don't see corporate lawyers or CEO's doing mobile installs... and they followed the band wagon because they had staff coming in from other competing companies which told them what the other company was,, so in turn since there is no winner today as all the companies have been struggling and producing mediocre productsd it rules out a conspiracy :)

I look at what happened and mentioned it here in a managers meeting, that when we get new staff that tells us how other operations are ran from a competing dealership, to either take it as a set up, corporate espionage, and why are we number 1 doing it the way we have been and they are number 400?

I just saw this on the bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ORION-XTR10001-XTR- ... 999.c0.m14

I don´t know nothing about the inside, but just by looking at the outside it tells me something! The logo, the familiar shape the eyebrow raising something! This amp looks like something from the outside and at least my brain combines it with something i know from the past! And that´s all i would ask from phoenix gold if it comes to news! It would be a liftoff in the right direction! 8)

PG will never be the same. Like someone said before. The high end market is gone! No one will ever buy a 100W PG amp for 500 bucks when they can buy a 400W "X" amp for 199. Even though the 100W PG amp is ten times better in SQ, will last longer, might be worth fixing if something did go wrong with it, and was made by an american. It is one thing that I hate about are society. We are a throw away society. Thats why I choose to buy an older amp like an M series or look for a company like Zed Audio or Lunar Amps. Don't quote me on this because I don't know there exact manufacturing processes but I believe that these two companies can and do make great amps that are made in the USA and have very good quality amps that are priced right. Good luck PG.

Thanks

^pretty much nailed it. PG needs a high end even if it only serves as a flagship ...and a line of near disposable amps to cater to the (sad) reality of the marketplace

I pretty much replaced everything with Audison and Hertz, sure it expensive, but it sells, is reliable, and sounds freaking awesome. So to say there isn't a high end market is not true... I turn away 95% of audio because the time it takes to putz around the car to make the installation 100% perfect... I will soon revisit it, but to find qualified help is another issue...

PG is gone, how much more bastardizing it can take I do not know... I think Morgan West is working for PG again also...

so there might be someone listening, but... MW has been really doing everything offshore and I think the Made in America has escaped him also. not saying that the Asians can't build a great amp, just saying that everyone else is building over there so what makes it so better than another Asain amp? Price is the factor once you know that... all the same amps then buy the cheapest, manu makes no money and it is the same ol same ol...

If they produce some new MS amps, in pure white, built like a tank, even better than the originals, I will buy some. Even better, fill them to the brim with gold and lexan windows too.

However if they just want to turn out cheap amps for kids I'll be forced to ignore the company for another 15 years.

Thanks, hopefully, in advance PG... don't throw it all away

Trust me bro, you will not be disappointed. They are built similar to the Ti amps. More power. I can't wait.

as funny as not being able to read canadian, it reminds me of my first day at a local community college. I couldn't help but hear the girl infront of me say she would LOVE to go for a semester or two at the schools, sister college in England but she didn't speak french.

no shit.......... I was just a second away from walking out and cancelling all my classes at the school but I was laughing too hard to do it.
