Here's part of what has been keeping me busy as hell...

I've finished quite a bit more since I took these pics but you can get the idea of what I'm doing in the main bath.....will take more pics eventually

So when I started this house there was a clawfoot tub going through the rotted floor and there was only cold water in the bath....it was about half this size....cut the fourth bedroom in half to fit the walk in shower in...it is built for my room mates disabled mom....the floor and shower walls are traverteen and the walls and out of it and the ceiling throughout are marble....not a tile expert but it looks ok....need to get harold over eventually to polish the exposed edges

I've finish the kitchen and all the electric through the entire house...all new plumbing and it is about half sheet rocked.....I am hoping that we don't lose the house but it isn't looking good at all....either way it'll appraise for one fuck of alot more then it was purchased for.....

The home is a victorian built in 1896....I have all the original cherry trim through out that I am poking away at refinishing and the house has black walnut flooring in most rooms though it has been covered in most....

I am aware that some of you have been wondering why I havn't been on a lot lately....well this is a great portion of it...I'll take some pics tomorrow of how it looks now that it is closer to being done....I have to build new windows for the bath and kitchen....most on the backside are rotted out...but they are original....not a fan of the easy pop em out and throw insulated ones in...detracts from the era to much....not that the the marble and overkill on the tile smacks of 1896 oregon life butI like stone......

That looks gggreat! to bad you don't live in calgary I would get you a great price on walnut.
Just remeber that it is the softest of the hardwoods and it start black and get allot lighter with time to yellow/whitish brown. Doesn't look 1/2 as good IMO.
I would look into Acaia Walnut same look 130% harder than Oak and it doesn't change color
another very nice floor is Tiete(brazillian) Chestnut same look a the Black north american walnut just a little less grain but 150% harder than oak.

In Canada the Black Walnut price went up 3 years ago 40% and the wood they are all milling is shorts and smaller trees they would not have cut down if they didn't have to keep up with demand

Looks pretty good so far.

I could nit pick some things, as I am incredibly anal about home improvement jobs. Hence the reason it takes me a year to do what most people can do in a month.

I badly wanted a Victorian home when I was in the market 4 years ago. My wife and I agreed I could not afford the home (heating costs would kill me), and I am too anal for all the imperfections which are in these old homes (especially when things settle over time so nothing is square).

But, based on what you have shown you have way more ambition than I do.

Eric, thats exactly why My family and I moved back to FL..I/we can take the 100 degree heat all day long,but I/we cant deal with below 0 winters IE: $2500+ in oil to heat/hot water for the house, for the season!
The rent on our last NH house was 1650 a month, and they are half the size of the houses down south..the house I rented in NH was a 3/2/1 with 1400sqft with a small unfinished basement. IN FL I pay 1000 for a 4/2/2 around 2500-3000sqft...with cinder block solid concrete poured walls..vs vinyl/panel sided wood framed barely insulated walls found all over the northern states ..some of my neighbors here in FL are from up north and moved here to make there dollar go a lil farther......

there is a light/ ducted fan on the shower roof tied in through gfi switch....then there is a hanging light outside...had to install two ducted fans to pull steam out of the walk in shower.

I hear you eric....nothing in this house is square....nothing. It was all lathe and plaster when I started this...no insulation....slowly I am dealing with that room by room. The house is always cold....installed furnaces in all major rooms but the gas bill is over 500 a month if we run it all the time....I don't care as I am always down in my shop or in the bench room/office keeping busy....

Born and raised in blackduck Mn.....cold doesn't bother me at all...I would rather be cold then hot cause we ain't got ac...it is only over 80 here two days a year.....

I love this house though....

What does the outside of the house look like?

This is the one I considered, and looking back it was WAY out of my budget, or league. Also it was in the city, and I don't ever want to live in or near the city again.
