I just came on with my phone.. Earlier this morning it didn't work when I tried a few times.. Now it did! I read the tap talk info. Do I need to buy the app to use on here. I thought it said it was free if the forum has it?.?. What else is tap talk good for other than making it faster? This is the first time I have heard about tap talk..

I cant find it in the tapatalk list either. What is the name on tapatalk tom, phoenix phorum? If so, maybe it takes a while for them to list them. Will check again later.

Later,
Jason
I didn't realize you had to register it for it to work. Most of the other apps just let you enter the hostname. Anyways, it's registered now!

Tapatalk makes browsing on your phone a hell of a lot easier. I may be installing a mobile theme as well, if there is a demand for it.

As for those of you asking for a different look and feel... I only want to maintain one style, otherwise with each mod I have to modify a whole bunch of different templates, which is a pain in the rear. I checked out all the available styles, and picked this one as my personal favorite. I will be making a few changes like switching to brushed metal in some areas, but on the whole it will look mostly like it does now.

If you guys want to have a look at some other themes, there are these sites:
http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/
http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/

If you can find anything more "Phorum-esque", which is supported by PHPBB 3.0.7 or later, then I will consider them as well. Unfortunately most of them are butt ugly! There were a few other ones I liked, like Brushed Metal II, but they are not supported by 3.0.7 :(

If you guys want to vote on the themes I can set up a poll.

Quick reply and other modifications are on my to-do-list. However, we need to decide on a theme first! Otherwise I have to reinstall everything! So get on it!

Yep, tapatalk forums need to be "registered" with tapatalk to show up in their list in the app(s).

Now that Tom registered it, tapatalk works great.

I am not all that keen on it honestly.... it is a little bright and everything seems backwards from what it was. IT will take some time to get use to for sure.

Fixed

Also, for the newbies, it should automatically scale the image to 800px width. Haven't tested it yet though...

The BB plugin is free for the forum owners, the app costs $2.99 for all the platforms it is available for. IMO it is well worth it. It is such a PITA using a mobile browser for anything other than surfing. When it comes to switch pages in a thread and write responses I am always having to zoom in to hit the right buttons, zoom back out to see, fuck around with it for every reply. Tapatalk lets you browse with large buttons and easy functionality-- plus it is faster than mobile browser for me...

Anyhow, there may be a free version of tapatalk, IDK, but it was worth the $3 if you asked me.

Thanks again Tom, and BTW, I personally like the new look, I think it is easier to read not harder-- maybe you should put up that poll. The only thing I don't like is how it is all mirrored now, but we will get used to it.

Later,
Jason

Agreed on the info being on the right, prefer subsilver2 styled templates.

Ding! Quick reply. I had it turned on, but there was an extra button I missed pressing. Too lazy until now to press it

Subsilver2 templates are usually too bland for me. I find the prosilver themes much more attractive and modern.

If having the panel on the right is TOO offensive, I can always customize this template, but it means I have to redo that and all the mods every time the theme gets updated. Also from the looks of it, every time PHPBB3 does a software update, the theme often needs to be updated as well. In BB2 this wasn't an issue because it was never updated, so I customized the hell out of that theme. For BB3 I would prefer to change only images at most, since those can easily be copied into a fresh update.
