Xenon Install

Post by AVICJR »

I found this Team PG install on my quest to find a Xenon 1200.1. Beautiful install. I love the under hood wiring.

what do you mean by this?

I run xenon 6.5 comps in mine with aTi Elite sub but I had xenon 12 in my Prelude thought it sounded pretty good.

I think he's referring to the 40-100hz gap in the frequency response between the xenon 12" and the xenon 6.5" neither one cover the mid-bass frequencies with any authority AT ALL-- not that the gear itself is bad, just somewhat mismatched (especially for being in the SAME FREAKING LINE)
I'm afraid of widths.

exactly what rlockwood said.

the xenon sub rolls of naturally above ~50 and the xenon mids don't play much below 80...

pg kinda dropped the ball on those to when you put them together

which sucks because i really love the xenon sub, i just have never been able to create a beefy enough front stage to make it sound right

so it's the sub you don't really like then right? I really love my zenon converts since I can't afford the Ti elite mids. Is there other mids you like better?

its the xenon midbass. everything about the set otherwise is top notch.
the ti elite sub can play a wide range of notes, so you can get it to blend with the xenon mids.

the rsd comps put up a good fight. their mindrange isn't as defined as the xenon, but they have a retarded amount of midbass (some say more then the ti elites, but i personally don't hear it) and the tweet is almost identical through the ti/xenon/rsd lines.

but i was lucky enough to snag a set of ti 6.5, so i plan on running them for a long long time

Man it seems I have been misinformed. Before I came here all I heard was the RSD line was a cheap inbetween of the next product line. Then I'm in here reading how the subs beatup $400-500 subs and the Comp sets compair with Ti elite sets. So what do you guys think of the Amps? Maybe I should use all this RSD stuff I was trying to sell. :idiot:

the amps are pretty decent. nothing special IMO, they put out their rated power cleanly.

i like my xenons amps more still. they have more features and put out their full power at 4ohms

the speakers are real surprise they don't look like anything special, but if you have some, you really should give them a shot

the RSD 12 especially is no joke. when i swapped out my xenon 12 with a unbadged RSD (a old tester that they sold at the F&F for $20 =) ) i was blown away. it will play almost as low as the xenon. the 30-60 range is equally as smooth, and gets quite a bit more loud while doing it.

if you have any of the subs hanging around, you should definitely give them a shot.
